"Mmmm..."
"Shh! Do you want Mrs. Obrien to hear you?!"
"Huh?"
I glanced up at my surroundings, but it was hard since my vision was still blurry after my sudden nap. I was in my math classroom, and Mrs. Obrien was teaching a lesson about the sin ratio. I realized there was a Trigonometry textbook open in front of me, covering my sleepy self.
I glared over at Calvin again, with a confused expression on my face.
"I wouldn't let you get in trouble for something as silly as falling asleep in class."
"Ahem!"
We were interrupted by Mrs. Obrien's booming voice.
"Is there anything you would like to share with the class, Calvin?"
"Uh..no ma'am."
"Good. Ava!"
I jumped up from my current position.
"Yes, ma'am?!"
Other classmates chuckled at my sudden outburst.
She sighed, and tried to finish her lesson.
"Oh by the way children, we are going on a field trip soon."
Everyone heard the words "field trip", and they all paid attention. The class filled with excitement, as Mrs. Obrien's temper went down.
"Quiet, or else I won't hand out your forms!"
The room fell silent.
"Now, we are going to visit a few places. Our destination is New York. We are to visit The Immigrant Museum, the Statue of Liberty, and MOMA. Keep in mind this is for Mr. Waltz. I have no interest in those petty sites."
The class roared in excitement. Field Trips are rare in these school systems.
"We are leaving on Friday, and are coming back on Tuesday."
Calvin nudged my foot.
"Can you believe it? A four day trip?! Wow! Once and a life time opportunity!"
I laughed at his excitement.
I wonder if mom will let me go...she better. It's a good chance to get closer to Calvin.
"I can't wait..." I murmured, imagining what the trip would be like.
Mrs. Obrien went on about the trip.
"Remember class, bring clothes ready for winter..."
I stopped listening to her. She was going to give us a form with information on it anyways.
After her ramble, she passed out the forms on bright orange paper.
The paper read the following:
