Well, we all knew it was going to happen eventually. That thing that all teenage girls dream about. That thing that Hollywood producers exaggerate in the movies. That thing that, well just happens.
Prom.
"You're going, right?" asked Emma.
"To what, prom?"
"Duh, it's probably the most fun you will ever have this year, in school anyways."
"See, even Amelia is excited about it!" said Christina, pointing at Amelia.
She poked her nose out from the fifth Harry Potter book, and nodded.
I chuckled, looking at our weird group walk down the school hallway.
"I dunno guys, I don't really like social events."
"Neither do we, I mean look at us."
I rolled my eyes.
"Did you guys get asked out yet?"
"Alex asked me over the weekend. Nothing over the top, he just gave me a rose." said Christina.
"Cute."
"Nick better do something big, I want it to be a big deal." said Emma, with her nose stuck up.
"Oh yeah, did Amelia tell you who asked her?" Christina asked.
"Oh, eh...yeah about that..." scampered Amelia.
"WHO ASKED YOU?!" Emma and I boasted in unison.
"Asher." she said quietly, almost as if she were to shy to admit it.
My eyes widened.
"Really?"
"Yeah, he just plainly asked me. I only talked to him a few times, but you know."
"Well, that's exciting."
Eventually, we all separated because of our separate classes, and I was walking to my science class.
I wonder if Calv is going, cause I know a lot of people who think prom is lame. I mean, who could blame them?
As I was about to walk into my classroom, I felt an arm loop itself around me, and I was pulled into a janitors closet.
I smacked the hand away from me, and saw who it was.
"You really need to stop getting my attention like that, before I end up punching you." I gasped.
"Sorry." Calvin said, while smirking.
"Anyways, you need something? I have to go to class in like...now." I said, as I heard a nearby door close.
"Oh, yeah."
Calvin pulled something out of his back pocket, it almost looked like a stem.
"Close your eyes."
"Calvin, I have to go."
"You're the one who is making this longer."
I huffed, and closed my eyes.
He scrambled some more.
"Okay, you can open 'em."
I opened my eyes, and Calvin was holding a blossomed dandelion. He blew it in my face.
"Will you go to prom with me?"
I chuckled, and coughed.
"This is ridiculous, but yes, of course."
