CHAPTER EIGHT:
"That won't be necessary, Kamado-Kun. I'll walk her there myself."
(Y/N) turns around in surprise to see Kyojuro Rengoku just behind them, his arms crossed as he eyes the two in a enthusiastic manner.
But something felt off about the way he looked at the two of them, it's as if he was bothered by something.
"O-oh! Rengoku-Sensei, we didn't see you there." Tanjiro shrugs, a small breathy laugh escaping his lips.
Kyojuro wasted no time in excusing Tanjiro so he can usher (Y/N) back to the lounge himself.
Tanjiro was a little hesitant at first, as he wanted to spend more time with (Y/N), but he eventually gave in.
"If you insist, Sensei. I'll see you tomorrow (Y/N)!" Tanjiro excuses himself and says goodbye one last time before sprinting off to meet up with his friends, or probably his sister.
(Y/N) nodded her head and waved as she watches Tanjiro's silhouette slowly leans away from her sight.
A wave of silence crashed through them, and she remembered the aura Kyojuro Rengoku was emitting.
She started feeling the slightest bit of discomfort, fidgeting with the hem of her uniform to calm her jittery nerves.
The silence was instantly broken by Kyojuro's absurd question, that surprised (Y/N) in an instant.
They way he said it sounded a bit heavy, but she didn't think much of it. She was to embarrassed by him asking such random and ridiculous question.
"Are you interested in Kamado-Kun?"
(Y/N) immediately started shaking her head, blush soaring her cheeks as she waves her hand at Kyojuro dismissively.
Slight awkward giggles escaped her lips as she answers in a stuttered reply.
"T-Tanjiro? No- N-no! I would never! He's just a really great friend, a very polite person. I l-like him, but only as a friend!" She quickly corrected him.
Kyojuro Rengoku didn't look the slightest bit convinced, but he gave in and just shrugged it off.
After all, what reason would he have for intervening with (Y/N)'s interests for guys?
None.
But something about (Y/N) gravitates him to her.
She was more than meets the eye, that's for sure. After talking to her older sister, Mitsuri Kanroji, Kyojuro now has a slight insight on who (Y/N) is.
A quiet, introvert that keeps her walls high and mighty.
It'll take some time for (Y/N) to learn to trust anybody, let alone her homeroom teacher, but Kyojuro was willing to take up the challenge.
