CHAPTER THIRTY:
The sound of the cold shower, slowly prickling water down Kyojuro's head, was enough to cover up the rapid thumping of his heart.
Yellow hair drenched and mixed with shampoo, soap trickling down his body, and golden eyes wide as his cheeks reddened in a haze.
It smelled like (Y/N), it smelled to much like (Y/N). And it was sending him to a spiraling frenzy- He tries to shake away the inconspicuous thoughts that rampaged his mind, but to no avail.
Why did he agree to this?
Maybe it was in a act of desperation. Seeing (Y/N) in her state, eyes wide and filled with shining innocence, drove him near insanity.
There was no way he was going to last inside her home.
Kyojuro's subconsciously slapped himself, reminding that Mitsuri would most likely send him to the depths of hell if anything happened to her little sister.
'You can to this, Kyojuro. Just make some dinner then get the fuck out of here.'
After a while, Kyojuro got himself out of the shower.
Sporting a plain tee and some sweatpants, Kyojuro slowly navigates himself to the kitchen, where he then finds (Y/N) already preparing the necessary ingredients for dinner.
Her head immediately perked up when she heard his footsteps, a sheepish smile plastered on her lips as she greets him. "I'm going to make some Onigiri, if you don't mind."
"Not at all." Kyojuro breathes out. "Onigiri sounds good."
They worked in silence, with Kyojuro occasionally guiding (Y/N) whenever she seemed unsure about her placement.
After they finished and cleaned up, Kyojuro admired their craft. "Those looks good, (Y/N). You can set them down, let me go and make some sauce real quick."
Abiding to Kyojuro's request, she grabs the tray of Onigiri and makes her way towards the living room. Once Kyojuro was sure that the girl was out of sight, he heaved out a deep sigh.
Keeping up the "Nice teacher/big sisters friend" act was slowly eating him away.
Not being able to tell her how he truly felt, the feelings he kept hidden behind closed doors, Kyojuro was at a loss.
With every minute they spent together, it was pure bliss. (Y/N) acted more carefree, more attentive when it was just the two of them.
She looked genuinely happy to spend time with Kyojuro, and he was eating it all up.
When Kyojuro finally managed to control his erratically beating heart, he followed (Y/N)'s trail and found her already sitting down one of the couches in the living room.
She set the tray down on the square table that was Infront.
Her legs were sprawled, but she immediately sat in a more polite matter when she saw the bemused glint dancing in Kyojuro's golden hues.
"K-Kyojuro- I wanted to watch a movie, if that's alright with you." (Y/N) immediately stammered, jerking her head towards the bright television that was playing (Favorite Anime) in the background.
Waving a hand at her dismissively, Kyojuro beams a smile in her direction. "It's alright. I plan to go home soon, anyways."
He has been acting way to cozy, and has already gotten way to close. Kyojuro needed to end his little charade quickly.
Who knows of the things he could've said... Or done.
There was a slight hint of displeasure that showed in (Y/N)'s (E/C) hues, but before Kyojuro could even notice, she quickly washed the feeling away with a small smile.
She fidgets with the hem of her shirt as she spoke, "I see. We both need to get up early tomorrow, too. So it's understandable. I put some Onigiri in a container, f-for you and Senjuro to share."
Kyojuro nodded his head, but his mind spoke in a different tone.
'Theres no way I'm sharing (Y/N)'s Onigiri with anybody. Sorry, little brother.'
"That is very kind of you, (Y/N)! I'm sure he'll love these." He beams at her.
She merely nodded her head and succumbed to the anime that played on the television. "Alright. Thanks again, Kyojuro."
"Thank you again, for the Onigiri. I'll be going now!" Kyojuro could sense that their conversation was already over, so he excused himself and left the premises.
His heart said otherwise, but staying would only have things escalate between them.
With a heavy heart, Kyojuro got his things and hopped in his car. Turning on the engine and the headlights of his car, Kyojuro then stated driving back to their place.
As he drove, Kyojuro noticed that his phone stated beeping wildly. Having no time to look at the name of the caller, he idly opened the call and waited for someone to speak.
Surprisingly enough, it was Mitsuri on the other end.
Her voice cheerful and as bright as always as she greets Kyojuro with an enthusiastic demeanor. "Kyojuro! How are things going there?"
"M-Mitsuri!" Kyojuro exclaimed, cursing under his breath afterwards for his stutter. The was was oddly random and sudden, and he couldn't help but wonder why she'd call him.
"How's it going there? It's almost been a week, Obanai already misses you." He added to lighten up the conversation.
He could hear the high pitched squeal the escaped her lips.
Kyojuro was certain that he didn't need to call in order to hear her flushed beet red, Obanai has that kind of impact on her.
"Oh don't be like that!" Kyojuro could already tell that she was heavily fanning her face. "I'll actually be back in the next few days. The announcing is taking literal days- And it's killing me!"
"When will you be back exactly?" Kyojuro then asked, his eyes focusing on the road Infront of him.
"I'll be back in time for (Y/N)'s birthday, if everything goes according to plan. That's why I called you, actually."
Kyojuro's attention was now in a state of panic, not knowing if his attention to the road is more important than listening to Mitsuri rant about (Y/N)'s birthday.
He was going to risk it, anyways.
"Mitsuri, do tell me more."
