CHAPTER TWENTY:

"A festival?"

(Y/N) looked at the Kamaboko squad, perplexed yet intrigued at what Tanjiro said.

Tanjiro showed (Y/N) the flyer he held in his calloused palm, red eyes glittering with pure excitement as he spoke animatedly, "Yep! It's their last day in town, so we're planning on going. You have to go with us!"

"Hmm hmm." Nezuko chimed in, nodding in agreement to her older brothers statement.

(Y/N) grabbed the flyer from Tanjiro's hand, and sure enough, it was the festival's last day tonight.

There were tons of games an activities that they could do, and alot of interesting snacks to try out. The Kamaboko squad was adamant to have (Y/N) come with them.

And of course, she was on board with the idea. A night filled with fun, a time for her to be with her newfound friends

She's never been to a festival before, atleast, not with friends. It'd be a nice experience for her.

But there was one problem.

"(Y/N), you can't go to the festival."

(Y/N) looked at Kyojuro in disbelief, eyes wide and brows furrowed as she waits for Kyojuro to take back what he said.

He didn't take back what he said.

With arms crossed, chest puffed out and a concerned look glossing over his mesmerizing golden eyes, Kyojuro looked down on (Y/N) completely serious with his statement.

She was sitting down on one of the couches in the longue, and Kyojuro stood just upfront, towering her with this unexplainable aura surrounding him.

As Kyojuro looked down on the clearly disappointed (Y/N), he couldn't help but feel a bit upset.

Imagining (Y/N), out at night with guys her age, guys who could clearly be able to court her without any problems, didn't really click right with him.

Kyojuro merely argued to himself that he was just trying to keep her safe.

That's all what Mitsuri wanted for her little sister, and he was trying to fulfill his role.

But the small, more selfish side of him was reasoning that he just didn't want any guys around her.

Because he might be able to murder someone then and there, it was unbecoming.

"But I already told Tanjiro that I'd go." She answered breathlessly, doe eyes filled with sadness.

The sound of Tanjiro Kamado's name rolling off of her lips had Kyojuro's subconsciously click his tongue.

It sounded so natural and sweet coming from her that it had a growl rumbling in his chest.
