Chapter 13 - The Aftermath

You woke up the next morning and your legs were still aching but luckily you could walk, as you got ready you had to keep sitting down as it hurt to stand up for too long - Jesus she really did a number on you. You walked down to your first lesson and sat down it was maths and normally you would act up a bit but after the punishment you received you thought it was best not to, your hand was still hurting so you used that to your advantage and said you couldn't write even though you could so you spent the whole lesson just listening and it was boring. You made it to your last lesson of the day and it was English you decided that you would actually do the work now but it still hurt a bit to write your teacher saw that and said that you should go to the medical wing to make sure everything is still ok you tried to say you didn't need to go but she insisted so you left and slowly walked there trying to kill some time. "Miss l/n why aren't you in lessons?" You heard a familiar voice say
"Miss Weems, good to see you too" you replied sarcastically "answer my question dear"
"My teacher wants me to go get my hand looked at as it still hurts" you replied in a dull tone
"Oh I see I thought you were in trouble for a minute, how are you?" She said smirking whilst looking at your legs
"I'm fine I must be going now" you turned around and walked as quickly as you could leaving Weems in shock.

As you approached the medical wing you could see miss thornhill sat next to a bed you looked a bit closer and saw that Xavier was still there and in pain still, you walked in with a smirk on your face "hi miss I hope you are well, do you know where any of the nurses are?" You asked miss thornhill ignoring Xavier who seemed to be scared of your presence "yeah I'll go get one are you ok?" You just nodded and took a seat a few beds away "hi miss l/n how can I help?" The nurse said as she walked over "I just got sent up for you to check out my hand some of my teachers are worried" you said letting her grab your hand you winced as she touched your knuckles "there is nothing wrong it's like I said though it might take a bit of time to heal so you should just take some tablets and ice it regularly" she let go of your hand and gave you a box of tablets "Take 2 of these every few hours, it should help with the pain and here's some ice" You put the ice on your hand and smiled
"Thank you" you started to walk out and decided that you were going to go relax in your room as there was only 5 minuets left of your last lesson, whilst walking you bumped into someone "shit sorry" you said not wanting to cause any drama "you should watch your language miss l/n" you looked up to see miss thornhill "sorry miss I didn't realise it was you" you started to carry on walking but stopped as she called your name "y/n have you talked to Enid since the accident? She seemed a bit shaken by your actions"
"No but I'll try catch her later, thanks for telling me" you walked away quickly and sat down on your bed - I might of messed up the only friendship I had over a little fight what is wrong with me? You questioned yourself before standing up and making your way to Enid's dorm as lessons had ended hoping she would be there.

You knocked and waited until you heard "come in" but it wasnt Enid who had said it but instead Wednesday "hi Wednesday I was looking for Enid do you know where she is?"
"She just went to grab a snack but should be back soon" her dark voice said "do you mind if I wait for her?"
"As long as you don't speak I am trying to concentrate" she said very seriously
"Ok thank you" you said sitting on a bean bag on the floor in silence it felt like it had been hours before you heard the door open making you stand.
"Hi Enid"
"Oh y/n what are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to apologise for my actions yesterday and wanted to make sure you were ok?" You weren't really one for friends but you liked Enid
"Well it was a bit scary but I'll forgive you!" She ran over and hugged you, you you didn't like physical touch but something about Enid made you feel comfortable so you hugged her back.
"Well i need to go catch up on the rest of my work that I've missed but thank you for forgiving me, would you like to go for a walk later?"
"I would love that I'll come over to your room after dinner" she smiled
"Ok I'll see you then, bye Enid" you left and went to your dorm to try do some of the work thornhill had given you it was a bit painful to do but you finished it and put it in your bag to take to her when you next had her lesson, you decided to have a little nap before your walk with enid.

You woke up to Enid shaking you awake
"Come on wake up!" She shouted
"I'm up jeez"
"Did you forget about our walk?"
"No of course not I just wanted a nap"
"Ah ok we'll let's go so we can catch the sunset" she dragged you out of bed
"Ok let me just grab a few things" you picked up your smoking stuff and put it in your pocket "ok im all ready"
"Finally let's go" you both left and walked towards the woods. After walking for half an hour you both sat on a log and you started to roll a fag "can I have one?" Enid asked and you looked at her confused "since when did you smoke?"
"I've only ever smoked one time but I just thought you wouldn't mind if I had one it's fine if not though" she put her head down "can you roll?"
"I've never tried, can you teach me?" She looked really excited "I can but only if your sure you want to smoke I don't want you to think you have to because I am" you said whilst moving you body towards hers "i promise it's not because your smoking just stressed so I need something to distract my mind" you looked a bit concerned and wondered what was stressing her out
"Ok we'll I'll teach you but I just want you to know that if you want someone to talk to I'm here" you then proceeded to show her how to roll it was funny to watch someone try learn, but it didn't take her too long to do a decent roll
"It took me a lot longer to learn so well done, here" you handed her a lighter and you both proceeded to smoke and talk.

After listening to Enid rambling on about school you decided to ask her why she was stressed "hey you know I'm here and won't judge so what's been on your mind?"
"It's just about the raven"
"That's the dance coming up next week right?"
"Yeah" she turned her head away
"So what's making you stressed about it?"
"I like someone and I don't know whether to ask them or not"
"Well whoever this person is would be very lucky to have you" you smiled and hugged her "what if she declines?" You didn't want to act shocked when Enid said she so kept it cool "then she's an idiot!" She laughed at your comment and you and her spent a few hours in the woods. You finally decided to look at the time and saw that it was 1 am you looked down to see Enid asleep on your shoulder so you picked her up and carried her to her dorm trying to be quiet so you wouldn't wake Wednesday but she wasn't asleep but writing on her typewriter. "Hi Wednesday, sorry for disturbing you just needed to drop Enid off" you placed Enid on her bed and put a cover over her, you couldn't help but feel a pair of eyes staring at you and you realised that Wednesday was looking at you with what you could only describe as jealousy and that's when you put it all together that Wednesday liked Enid and you think the person enid was talking about earlier was Wednesday not wanting to make her think you liked Enid you explained what happened "sorry it's so late we got caught up talking about the raven, are you going?"
"No" she said simply
"Oh I see, well i better be heading back to my room, nice chat" you said sarcastically before leaving and going to bed.

AN - sorry it took so long I have some things going on at the moment but I'm going to try post regularly still.
