When I was seven my mom told me that the anniversary of my dad's business was on my birthday. He called me his good luck charm. Every year on my birthday my dad always had a big party. It was two celebrations at once so he felt it was necessary.

I don't have a big celebration this year. Instead, I have an interview to tell random people that I was the child who was given that same business. I was giving the green light for people to think they had the right to invade my privacy from now on.

"Alright everyone back up!" Jack yells at everyone who had been surrounding my front gate.

I had called him asking if he could take me on a bike lesson today. I am nervous and thought it would be an amazing escape from the real world for an hour.

My gate opens and Jack drives through waiting for it to close before pulling his jacket off of my head. Thank god my dad had privacy gates put in instead of just the bars. If that were the case we would be screwed.

"Alright, sweetpea you are all set." I roll my eyes at the nickname.

Another nickname to my endless collection.

"I tell you one story from my childhood and you just will not let me live it down." He shakes his head and laughs. "But umm do you want to come in? They usually die down when it gets darker." Jack stares at me for a second like he was debating.

"You sure that's alright with your family?" I quickly nod my head. "Alright then." I smile, spin around and walk toward the door.

I unlock it, stepping aside for Jack to walk in. "This is my house, well it was my dad's but you know he gave it to me." He walks in looking around with wide eyes.

"I can see why you would feel so alone when you lived here." He steps further in, I lock the door behind us. "This may be a nice house but it's decorated like you are only meant to be here for a couple of days."

"Yeah. My mom was usually the one who decorated." I take off my coat and hang it on the hooks by the door. "You want to hang up your stuff here?" He takes off the jean jacket he had over his hoodie, softly placing it in my hands.

"Lex you home?" Violet's voice can be heard from the kitchen.

"Yeah."

"Come over here, I need your opinion." I follow and signal for Jack to follow me. "Do you think the new cheer outfit looks nice on me?" When she comes into my view I see a nice blue and gold on my little sister.

"Oh, my goodness vi you look amazing."

"Thank you." She turns around and immediately notices Jack behind me. "Lex I don't know if you know this but there is a very beautiful man behind you." Jack laughs.
