"What the fuck was that?" He says the minute my little brother walks out of the kitchen.
"It's my fucking inheritance."

I put my hand on the doorknob, turning it to reveal the White walls littered with pictures and posters. I take a step further, picking up a pillow from the neatly made bed, bringing it up, and hugging it to my chest tightly.
The Twins didn't come home, and I got a message from the lawyer the morning after saying they have full access to their trust funds. I don't think my mind properly processed what happened that day. I have processed that I have no one to blame but myself.
Violet was right. Kai would never have done anything like this to them, and I let them slip through my fingers. It's been a week since everything went down, but that week has felt like an eternity. Their rooms filled with a silence that made my stomach churl in ways it never had before.
I knew I was going to lose them one day, but never had I thought it was on the same day I lost my best friend. Again, I couldn't blame anyone else. What makes everything worse is I still haven't told them about the letter I had received the night Harry stopped by. I look to my right, seeing the door that connects to Nathan's room slightly ajar.
In between the two rooms, they shared a bathroom my mom had installed when Nathan would have accidents because he was scared to walk down the hall alone. It was also easier to get them both to shower and ready for bed because both rooms were on either side.
"Alex." I jumped, startled at the voice that had suddenly appeared behind me. "What are you doing in here?" Hunter questions, looking around the room as I had when I first entered.
"Nothing." I gently put the pillow back in its place. "It still smells like her. Hell, it even smells like Nathans cologne." I giggle sadly, still feeling sick to my stomach. It almost felt like I was going to throw up at any minute.
"Just call them." Hunter pleaded, wrapping his arms around my shoulders and leaning his head against mine.
"What am I supposed to say? If I had just opened my mouth, then Violet would be sitting right here talking to me. Nathan would be yelling at me with a mouth full of toothpaste, telling me how Violet is too loud when she gets up to use the bathroom at night." My chest hurts thinking and imagining what that moment would look like. Instead of silence, the room would be filled with laughter and joy.
"You know how Violet gets when she's mad. But once she calms down, she will listen." Hunter reassured me, but I still couldn't shake the feeling that this was different. It felt like they were leaving and never wanted to see me again.
My eyes filled with tears. "She was right. The three of them did leave as soon as we had the funeral." I feel Hunter kiss the back of my head. "She was so angry at me. I don't blame her."
