"What the fuck was that?" He says the minute my little brother walks out of the kitchen.
"It's my fucking inheritance."

"Mommy," Violet calls for me.
"Yes, baby?"
"I have a question." My five-year-old walks around the corner into the kitchen. I finish washing the last dish grabbing a dry rag to wipe off my wet hands.
I've noticed that my youngest children have many more questions than any of my other kids ever did. They run around asking question after question, some of them I never have answers to.
"What is your question?"
"Why do me and brother have the same birthday?"
"Yeah momma, why do we have the same birthday?" I smile seeing little Nate walk in the same way Violet had entered. The two stand side by side.
"Because you were both in mommy's stomach at the same time. So you were born on the same day." They look at each otherand then back at me.
"There are two girls at school who say they are twins too but they look like each other. Why don't we?" Nathan asks this time.
"That is because you are a boy and a girl. They are both girls. You are called fraternal twins." I walk over to my kids kneeling in front of them. "Grandma was a twin but she had a sister so they looked the same."
"Now my head hurts," Violet whines, putting her hand on her forehead. I lightly chuckle.
It's moments like these that I wish would never end. It's a moment of peace. Everything has been weighing me down to the point where I don't know if I will be able to handle it after a while. But every morning I wake up and get all my kids ready for school. It gives me seven reasons to continue doing what I am doing.
"All you have to know is your twins."
"You should have just led with that." Nathan sasses. I stand up grabbing each of their hands. "Where are we going, mommy?"
"I have to pick up your brother and sister from school." I bend down picking up each kid, placing them on my hips. "Maybe we will even stop for ice cream on the way home."
"Yay!!" The twins cheer, bouncing in my arms.
"Nate, can you grab my purse please?" I walk over to the hallway table leaning down so he can grab the bag.
"Put me down, mommy. I wanna walk like a big girl." Violet wiggles in my grip. I let go of my grip on her slowly sliding down my side.
"Oh no, my baby is getting older." I pout.
"Don't worry Mommy you will always be able to carry me." I grab violets and she opens the door.
