"It's my fucking inheritance."

An hour after the man left, the house was filled with Hunter and my siblings got back to the house and they rushed me with questions. I could feel myself getting overwhelmed before Hunter finally stepped in asking them to give me some space.
I told them what happened except for the fact that he said they would be back for me. If I told them they would be in total protective mode. That isn't something we needed right now. We needed to keep our heads on straight.
My brothers were in shock and my sisters were crying when they saw the red coloring over Malikis's photo. They knew all too well what the mark meant. We went from seven to six.
My older brothers decided we would take a few days to cope with our grief. I cried for three hours straight but refused to do it in front of any of my siblings. I held Nathan and Violet when they came into my room crying, waking up both Hunter and me.
"Alex." I am woken up to the sound of sniffling and my arm being shaken. I slowly peel my eyes open seeing Violet standing in front of me. Nathan was only a couple of feet behind her.
"What's wrong?" I rub my eyes.
"We can't sleep." By the looks on their faces, I know exactly why they can't sleep.
"You want to talk about it?" I sit up. Hunter stairs next to me soon waking up.
"You guys were having a party and did not invite me?" His sleepy yet sassy tone made the twins chuckle. "What's wrong little ones?"
"We are scared." Violet sobs.
"Come here butterfly." He sits up in the same position I'm in. Violet climbs onto the bed crawling to Hunter once she's there she lets all her emotions go.
I looked back over to Nathan who was standing messing with his hands. "Nate came here." I open my arms and he slowly walks to the bed, getting on and laying between my legs with his head on my lap.
"I miss him so much." Nathan breaks down just like our sister. I wrap my arms around his head, running my fingers through his hair.
"I know. I do too." I mumble into his hair. A single tear falls down my cheek.
"I can't get the picture out of my head. Every time I close my eyes I can see it." My heart breaks listening to my little brother's confession.
After around fifteen minutes both of the quiet down I can hear light snoring coming from Violet. I close my eyes and take a deep breath.
"They are going to be okay," Hunter whispers. "We will figure this out and make sure nothing happens to anyone else." I look over Nathan's face. His eyelashes are long but not too long so they barely hit his cheek.
