"What the fuck was that?" He says the minute my little brother walks out of the kitchen.
"It's my fucking inheritance."

Flash back five years. Alexandria Wright
"So what I am hearing is you don't wanna go." I walked up the steps to my house. I pulled out my house key unlocking the door so we could all walk in. "Because I think it would be fun."
"I agree with the big guy." Maliki drops his bag. I pick it up knowing if my dad sees it there he will have a fit.
"I wanna go." Violet chimes in.
"Violet, you are the last person to be going to this." Maliki chuckles at our little sister.
"Why can't we go?" Nathan says.
"It's a high school party." Maliki draws out the word high school. "What grade are you in again?" He taught the younger two making them mad.
We enter the living room, each of us taking a spot on the seat. I lean down putting Maliki's bag as well as mine in the corner of the room. Hunter leaves his bag on the floor laying his head on my lap almost immediately after I sit down.
"Why does that matter?" Violet defends.
"Middle school. You two are in middle school which means you can not attend." Maliki continues his banter. Both twins sit on the same couch with a sour looks on their faces.
"Lex tell Kai that we can go even if we are in middle school," Nathan whines.
I shake my head. "I'm sorry babies but he's right. You can't go." It only adds fuel to Maliki's fire. "But don't worry because if I don't go then that means a certain someone can't either." They suddenly aren't so sad anymore.
"What?!" Maliki shouts.
"You know damn well Dad won't let you go if I don't." Hunter laughs from in my lap. "What's so funny? That means you can't either."
"How did I get dragged into this?!"
"You laughed." Hunter scolds me. "Besides I got word that someone already got news of the party and it won't even last an hour." Both boys groan.
"Would you look at that?" Violet glimmers with joy. "Looks like none of us are going." Both twins talk at the same time.
I lightly laugh at the joy they find from the misery of our brother. "So you staying here tonight?" I look down at the tall boy who has taken camp in my personal space.
"I'm not going to a party so it appears so." He maneuvers his body so he is facing away from me hugging my leg.
"Hunter, why do you insist on being all over my sister? She is not your girlfriend." Maliki gives my best friend a look of disgust.
"Don't be mad just because I'm going to be wrapped around a foxy lady tonight and you're not." I slap his shoulder, he laughs and I roll my eyes.
"Keep talking like that and I'm gonna make you sleep in Cameron's room." The sound of the front door catches my attention. My dad walks in and we all go silent.
