Chapter 20: Dream

~ Kenzie's POV ~

     "Sarah?" Alex said. The girl who is obviously is named Sarah.

     "Hey Alex." She said with a light smile. Alex eyes are watery.

     "What are you doing? Who are they?" He asked she looked back and looked over at the 4 guys behind her.

     "I , I am in there gang." She said hesitantly. Zach jaw dropped.

     "What, wait?" Austin said. Alex had a tear streaming down his face. This is the first time I have seen him cry.

     "How the fuck can you be in that gang? You fucking trader, I thought you would never be in a gang." Austin said letting his gun down. He was obviously is frustrated. She nodded.

     "You don't underst-"

     "What the fuck is there to understand. You were with us. Now you with them? We were family. I had to help AC when you left." Austin said practically yelling at this girl Sarah.

     I look over at Alex and he is with Zach crying on his shoulder.

     "Hey! Don't you fucking yell at her." One of the boys said.

     "Luke, lay off." Sarah said. He walked off towards the other guys behind him.

     "Who is Luke? Your boyfriend." Alex said. He was really broken.

     "Alex, I still love you. I will never date anyone else." She said with her tears streaming down her white face.

    "Sarah, why did you join them?" Zach asked.

     "Guys you don't understand." She said now with tears really falling down her face.

     "Sarah come back with us." Austin said. Sarah was about to speak until that guy named Luke interrupted.

     "Oh no! That's not happening. She is with us and she will stay with us." Alex looked up at him.

     "No she is mine. She belongs with me." He said walking towards her and pulling her away from them guys.

     "No. She is with us!" Luke said.

     "Let her go." Alex said. Luke pulled out his gun and aimed it at Alex.

     "No." Luke said. Alex pulled his piece out to. Austin, Zach, and Robert pull out there gun and aimed at Luke. Luke's crew did the same. The one with the black hair pointed at Austin, the one with the brown hair pointed at Zach and the one with the blonde with brown streaks in his hair pointed at Robert. They all change the positions. Zach at the one with black hair, Robert with the one brown hair, and Austin pointed at the one with blonde and brown streaks.

     "Stop pulling you are hurting me." Sarah says. They both stop pulling her. Luke still pointed at Alex and Alex pointed at Luke.

     "Alex! 23!" Austin said. I am guessing 23 is a code word. Alex aimed upwards and shot. Luke flinched and let go of Sarah. They all scattered around. Alex had Sarah over his right arm, she was ducked to avoid getting shot.

     Austin was behind a trash can, Robert and Zach was behing a wall, and Alex had Sarah behind a wide trash can. There was shots going off. I was right beside Austin. Shots from left to right. It echoed in the old, abandoned, alley. Austin stood up to shoot and then he ducks down. I heard a shot go off and it hit someone. I think its from the other side.

    "Let's go Calum." I think Luke said. I hear their footsteps getting farther away from us Alex was trying to shoot at the one with the brown hair. He shoot back but missed. Alex shot one more time it almost hit him. It went right passed his left ear. I hear their car speeding down the road.

     They are gone.

     "Austin! We need help!!" Zach cried out loud. I look over and he is standing with tears in his eyes. I look down.

     "Robert!" I screamed with tears in my eyes. I sprinted over to him.

     "Robert!! Babe! Talk to me." I said crying.

     "Kenzie.......... Ken" He said, he was having trouble speaking.

    "Oh, my god! Alex call Tyler. Tell him we need him now!!" Austin shouted to Alex. Alex was dialling this Tyler guy.

     "Kenzie, I won't make it." He said. I cried more.

     "No! Robert don't say that! You have to stay with me! Stay with me!" I said bawling my eyes out. He moved his hand and I seen where the bullet hole is at. Its at his side of his ribs. I touched it, not caring if I get blood on me.

     "Baby...... Ken........ I love yo-"

     "NO! Don't say that. You are not leaving me. Stop sounding like you are." I said shouting.

     "He is coming." Alex said. I look around Austin sitting next to me. He is crying over Robert. Zach is crying and punching the wall. Alex is just standing there with his hands over his eyes crying.

     "Ken, I love you. You are the love of my life." He said. I didn't have enough energy to stop him. I just let him go on.

     "I wanted to live for ever with you. I wanted to have your kids. I wanted to be there with you." He tired to pick himself up but he failed and winced. I stopped him by trying to push him back down.

     "Baby, Once I am gone promise me something." He said with my hand in his hands.

     "Yes anything. Anything you say I will complete it." I said trying to please him.

     "Pr- Promise me you will move on."

     "No! Robert, you can't leave me now. Not now, not ever. I need you. I will need you now and forever." I said trying to make him stay with me.

     "I love you Kenzie." He kissed my lips one last time.

     He stopped breathing.

     "No! No! No! No! No! Robert! Come back! Come Back! I need you!" I said yelling.

     "Kenzie wake up. Kenzie wake up!" Someone was shouting at me. I open my eyes and see Austin shaking me.

     "Robert!" I said. The room was silent. I started to sob. Austin sat beside me.

     "No, No, No. Don't cry it was just a bad dream. Its over now. Don't cry, I am here and I will protect you." He rubbed my back. I cried in his chest.

     "It felt so real. I thought he was gone." I said crying more.

     "No, don't think about it. Just forget it. Its not real its not going to happen. It is okay." He said comforting me. I sobbed more.

     "Austin can you sleep in my bed? I am scared." He nodded yes.

     We laid down and he was laying down. I was laying down hugging him. He was soothing me.

     "It was just a dream. You can sleep, I will protect you." He said. My crying was slowing down. My breathing was coming to a control. Austin was humming a song and rubbing my back.

      "It was just a dream" He repeated once again and the last thing I heard. I fell a sleep with my face in his chest and him humming a song.
