Chapter 31: Heard Everything

~ Austin's POV ~

"Boy." Someone said. This someone had his hand on my shoulders. Dammit! I know its the cops. I turn around and see the cop in his blue uniform. "Yes." I said nervously. "You dropped this." He said handing me a piece of paper. I look at it. It was the receipt from our order.

I took it and said,"Thank you." The cop smiled and said,"Your welcome. You two have a good day." He said and walked away. Kenzie was just standing there, with her her back towards the cop. I grabbed her hand and tried to pull her out but she wouldn't move. I had to pull her out of there. We entered the car and Alex drove off. Slow at first and then fast.

"That was a close one." Zach said. "Yeah. Let's not get out the house for the next couple of days." I said. "I agree." Robert said. "Yeah me too." Zach said. "Okay" Alex said. I know him. He is too focused on the road. He will only talk in short words when he is driving. "You down?" I turned and looked at Kenzie. She looked scared. "Huh? Yeah." She said anxiously. "Is everything okay?" I asked. She was shaking. She looked pale. "Yeah." She answered quickly. Something is wrong. "Are you sure?" I asked. "Yes! Gosh!" She said, she sounded pretty annoyed.

She looked mad a little. I don't want to piss her off more so I laid off. "What's wrong with her?" Robert whispered to me. He was on my left. I shrugged. "I don't know, she was looking weird and I asked her what was wrong and she just yelled at me. I think I pissed her off." I said to Robert. "I will talk to her." He said. I nodded. "Please." I said. He nodded.

We get back home and my mom was in the kitchen. We told her what happened. Kenzie is in her room. She went straight to her room once we got home. She left her bag in the car. Robert went in the room to talk to her. I want to know what was wrong. I think she is mad at me for annoying her. I don't want her to be mad at me. I love he-

"Hello? Austin?" My mom interrupted my train of thoughts. "What?" I said, now paying attention. "I asked you did the cop really talked to you but you didn't answer, you were in lala land. Are you okay?" She said. "Yeah." I said. "Are you sure? You look worried." My mom said. "Umm... No I am fine. Just probably the police that shook me up. I will get over it soon." I said. "Okay hun." She said.

"I am going to the bathroom." I said. I get up and go to the upstairs bathroom. Zach and Alex kept talking to my mom. I just need to wash my face and hope everything is okay when Robert talks with Kenzie.

~ Kenzie's POV ~

"Kenzie? Are you okay." Someone said. I pick up my head from my hands. It was Robert in the crack of the door. "You can come in." I said. He sat down beside me. "Are you okay? You looked pissed on the ride home." He said. "You made Austin feel bad. He thinks he pissed you off." He said. "Oh fuck. I didn't mean to make him feel like that." I said. "It was just I was arguing with myself." I said, not lying. "Kenzie just explain everything to me. How were you feeling? What pissed you off? Just talk to me." He said serious.

"Its just that, when I seen the cops I froze. My mind was telling me to turn around and tell the cops I was kidnapped but, my body wasn't moving. Austin had to pull me out. The whole time I was standing there. I was like turn around. Turn around. Turn around. But I was too scared to. I want to be free and with my family because I miss them but I just couldn't turn all of y'all. I feel like I have grew a bond with all of you and I couldn't do. If I did that is was like turning in your best friend. Now, I just feel awful I made Austin feel like that. I didn't want to turn in anyone. I didn't want to turn in Austin because I love him. I love all of y'all and I can't do that." I said on the edge of crying.

"Kenzie" He said and hugged me. "I understand where you are coming from. There was many times I wanted to turn myself in and turn in the rest of the crew. But I couldn't because they are my friends. I understand that part. I am pretty sure the other guys have felt this before." He said. He let go of me.

"So I know where you are coming from there. We love you too. I love you and Austin loves you to, more than me, more than anyone." He said, I started to smile a little. "I think since you had talked to me, you need to talk to Austin and get things straight." He said. I nodded. "I agree with you, I might do it to night or something." I said. "Thanks Robert. I know I can count on you when I need a girlfriend." I said.

He looks at me and and smiles, "I am glad to help you girl." He said as he flipped his imaginary long hair with his hand. "Oh my god." I said and laughed. "Come on, let's go downstairs." He said. I get up and walk by his side. He puts his arm around my neck. We walk out and go down the stairs. We see everyone but Austin.

"Hey guys." Michele said when she saw us. "Hello Michele." I said. "Hey Kenzie." She saidand smiled. Robert and I sat down next to each other. "Kenzie, did you learn how to surf?" Michele asked. "Yeah, I did. It was really fun." I said, I really enjoyed it. "It was fun because she was with Austin." Zach said.

I gave him a serious face. "Oh, Austin taught you to surf?" Michele said with a smile. "Yes he taught me to surf but it is not what you think. We are just friends." I said. I had the biggest smile on my face. Zach and Alex was laughing. "That is how everything starts, just friends." Alex said. Michele just smiles at me. "I promise it is not like that." I said trying not to smile but I couldn't help to smile. "Okay, I didn't say anything." She said.

"Kenzie do you like him?" Zach said. I feel myself heating up. "You are blushing, is that a yes?" Michele said. "No." I said quickly. "You like him. You like him." Zach said chanting. "I am going to have a song with this beat." Zach said. They all laughed. I just busted a smile. "Okay, fine, I do a little." I said. "I fucking knew it! I knew it!" Zach said. "Zachary! Language." Michele said, I laughed. "Haha!" Robert said. "Robert, it is not nice to laugh at people." Michele said. Alex tried not to laugh, but smiled.

"I think it is cute you have a crush on my son." Michele said, I just smiled. "Thank you." I said. I felt a bit weirded out. "So, I am going to finish my food." Robert said. He got up and went to the kitchen to get his food from Mc Donalds. "Yeah me too." Zach said. He got up as well. "I finished mine." Alex said. "Yeah because all you had was fries." Zach said as he headed to the kitchen. Alex just rolled his eyes at Zach and looked at the floor.

"You need to eat more." Michele said. He looked up and looked at her. I nodded in agreement. "Yes you do." I said. "I will eat when I am hungry." He said. We all just sat there watching TV. You can hear Zach and Robert laughing and talking in the kitchen.

I just need to talk to Austin when he gets back from where he is at.

~ Austin's POV ~

I heard everything.
