Chapter 54: I'll be back

Luke's POV

"Luke." Her angelic voice sings as I hear the door open. I can hear the desperation in her voice, it makes my heart flutter. I want to make sure she is okay and the baby.

"Kenzie!" I yelled, desperate for her to come closer. "Are you okay?" I get up on my knees. "Did they hurt you? How's the baby?" A wave of questions wash over me. Would they hurt her? Did they know she's pregnant?

"Luke I'm fine. But how are you? Did they hurt you?" She said. She came closer to me her hand caressed my cheek as I tried to kiss her hand. Her other hand was on her belly.

"I was worried about you." I whispered. She smiled at me and planted a kiss on my lips. Her sweet, soft lips can make every distress go away. How I wish we could escape this and live together.

"I love you Luke," she smiled at me as I tugged on my lip ring, "I'm okay." She said softly as she began to untie me. Once she had my hands free, I wrapped my arms around and patted down her hair. She was a bit tense, I guess seeing Austin changed her view of things.

"How was seeing Austin again?" I asked nervously. She looked at me, her eyes was hiding something. She looked down and rubbed her belly.

"I just can't believe he is alive." She looked down and rubbed her belly. "He actually is alive right now and is going to be the dad of my baby." She said softly. I looked at her and held her hand, I glazed my thumb across her hand.

"I'm happy for you, you know?" I said honestly, she looked up and stared at my eyes. "If you still love him, I will understand." I said shaky. I have respect for Kenzie, if she wants to be with Austin, then I will let her. It will hurt me a bit but I will let her do whatever she wants.

"Luke," She said, the tears were welding in her eyes, "I'm just confused and shocked and sad and happy." She said smiling at how crazy she sounds. "I don't know what to do." She said looking at the corner of the room. "I love you Luke, I do. You make me feel loved and safe. You make me feel beautiful and everything is so nice with you. I love you for that." She said as she held my hand. "But with Austin, I feel like a whole new me. I feel like I have a whole new side that he brings out." She said with her eyes lighting up. I wish she acted like that when she speaks of me.

"Kenzie, I won't hold you back. Be with Austin, he is and will be the child's father. You still love him and I won't take you away from anything that makes you happy." I looked at her, hoping to see an urge to argue against me but there wasn't anything. "I love you and my baby. She will bee the most beautiful girl in the world." I said confidently. I wish Kenzie has a girl, I always wanted a girl.

"Luke, don't assume its gender." She said in a teasing way. "It could be a boy." She added. She wants a boy and it's noticeable. I want a girl but if it turns out to be a boy, I will love it endlessly. As long as it is healthy, I don't mind.

"Kenzie you need to come with us." Someone burst in the door. I quickly stand in front of Kenzie to protect her from whoever it was.

"Slow down Speedy Gonzalez. I won't hurt her." Zach said, Robert was behind him. I still didn't move, I didn't want anyone to lay a finger on Kenzie.

"Hey don't worry Luke," Kenzie tugs at my shirt. "They won't hurt me." She smiled and stood up and walked towards them. Before she leaves the door, she turns around and hugs me. "I'll be back." I engulf her embrace and return the hug. I kissed her hair and rubbed her back. I did not want to let go of her.

Kenzie lets me go and exited the room.

Kenzie's POV

"Hey guys, where are we going?" I asked Rob and Zach.

"We are taking you to a doctor. Austin wants to make sure your pregnancy is healthy." Rob answered. I rubbed my belly as I think about having my baby.

"Where is Austin? Is he coming with us? Can Luke be there?" I asked. They looked at each other weird, and Zach looked at me. "What? What's wrong?" I asked.

"No. Nothing but yes Austin will meet us there. He had to take care of things right now and no, Luke isn't the father so he won't be there." Zach said. He seemed nonchalant, but I didn't want to ask what they were hiding.

I just sat back and rubbed my belly. I felt the baby move around. I smile at the thought of having Austin's kid. Oh how I fantasized of us having a big family. I close my eyes as we drive into the city for my doctors appointment.
