Chapter 13

The next day, the HQ was pretty crowded as usual. There were chattering among the members.  Luz and Amity got along with the members, especially with the Mixels.

It would surprise some people that a team that had just formed became bigger. The Deciphers might as well grow into the same amount of members as the Apples or even the Mizfitz, not that Bella dreamed of it.

While she always liked the term 'the more the merrier', she cared about helping people more than numbers. She was glad she had nine more members. With seven Mixels, one witch, and a human that was training to be a witch, Bella was getting the help she needed.

Throughout the day before and the current evening, Bella and her team members got to know the seven Mixels and Luz and Amity. Even though some of the new members had some disadvantages, such as Lunk being slow and Luz only knowing one spell, Bella honestly didn't care.

They weren't just their new teammates. They were their new friends, and Bella wasn't gonna throw them out, regardless of disadvantages. This morning, Autumn Blaze left early to go back to her village. She was quite busy.

About 30 minutes ago, everyone heard the doorbell. Bella was discussing what to do about Cassandra and Tessa, when the bell ring. She asked Lunk to go answer the door, much to almost everyone's chagrin, since Lunk wasn't the fastest Mixel.

"Okay, so apparently, as many of you know, we won't need to deal with just Cassandra and the villains anymore,"  Bella told everyone. They were in the meeting room, in which Bella improved by making the table bigger and adding extra chairs. "There's Tessa that most of us are aware of."

"That's right," Mabel frowned.

"Since the Mixels and Luz and Amity are new members, I'll help them get on track," Bella said as she began to explain. "Tessa used to be a human girl. We met her when I assembled the first members of this team. She was another victim Cassandra attacked. After our mission on Copper 9, we didn't see her again. At first, we thought she was at peace, but we discovered that during the past four or five days, Cassandra had been repeatedly attacking her. Tessa became broken, mentally. So she decided to take matter into her hands, and now she's out there somewhere. Planning to commit a murder against the very person that hurt her so much."

"That's terrible," Luz said, frowning a bit. Amity and the Mixels gasped upon hearing this.

"It is, Luz," Bella said in an unhappy tone. "Tessa found a stone. It changed her entire form, and now she looks like this."

Bella pulled out a canvas that she had previously painted on. It was painting of Tessa in her current form. The same suit, with the blue eyes and the deer face, with the same sharp horn on her forehead. The team's newest members gasped in shock.

"That's right," Bella said before putting the canvas away. "So we have two jobs as a team. Protect the innocent from Cassandra and protect Cassandra from Tessa."

"That sounds pretty ironic since apparently Cassandra is our enemy and protecting her is our second job," Amity said.

"I know, but we have to," Bella told her. "Cassandra is not some monster. Rapunzel and I have faith in her. And we can't just let Tessa murder her."

"But no Cassandra around saves us the trouble," Uzi said calmly with narrowed eyes. "Unless Tessa doesn't kill the other villains."

"Uzi," Ruby frowned.

"Uzi, we can't just let Tessa kill Cassandra,"  Bella said, narrowing her eye. "It's not right."

"Didn't you say she tried to kill you, even after she found out you weren't a real human?" Uzi asked with a raised brow.
