"Like you're doing right now." She said with a small voice, hypnotized by the look in his eyes. "With undivided attention, as if nothing else mattered in the world..."

"Nothing else does." He shrugged, making it seem like it was crazy to think anything could be more important to him than her.

His words disarmed her. She felt like the luckiest woman in the world because of him and she smiled, feeling light-headed. He made her feel like that when he looked at her with so much adoration and when he spoke like that, straight from the heart.

He brought a hand up, caressing her cheek, still looking at her and she felt like melting into him. "I love you..." She said hugging him close. He was the only person besides her family who loved her for who she really was. He loved her even when she was moody and grumpy, when she was tired, in the mornings right after waking up... He made her feel truly loved and she felt the luckiest because she loved him that much too. Always.

He kissed her in return. He kissed her so many times she almost forgot where they were. It didn't really matter as long as they were in each other's arms, in each other's company, that's where home was.

"Remember when I asked you out?" He inquired after a while.

She smiled remembering his calls and messages. It was because of him that her phone seemed to be permanently glued to her hand. They were always talking, even right after seeing each other on set. "Yes, I remember." Of course she did, she remembered everything. "I wasn't sure if we were going on a date or if you just wanted to hang out..." She said amused.

He found it amusing too. "I just wanted to see you." He said innocently. "I gave it a lot of thought, it seemed too soon but... I had to see you so I just called."

"And I said yes." She added, still smiling.

"Yes! I did a little victory dance after you hung up." He said, also smiling.

She laughed. "And I hugged my phone."

His smile grew bigger and he leaned in for yet another kiss.

"I loved our dates. We had a lot of fun! And I always felt comfortable with you." He made her feel like they had known each other forever and he made her laugh so much, nobody was as entertaining as he was. She loved to listen to him, to everything he had to say. She found him so interesting, charming, and genuine, like no one she had ever met before. Being around him made her happy. She loved being around him. And she found him incredibly attractive too, that made it even easier for her to get lost into him and his world but at the same time made everything complicated because she wanted to be his friend but she liked him at the same time. Still, she spent lots of time with him, went out with him and the rest was history.

"We still have fun." He said. "We can keep going on fun and romantic dates. This is like a date."

"It is. I love it." She nodded and it was her turn to plant a kiss on him.

"I'm glad you're here with me." He whispered.

"Thanks for letting me come." She said and then giggled, remembering how he wasn't sure if she should go with him or not and how she had made a scene because of it. She wasn't proud of that but it had already happened and neither one of them was upset about it anymore.

"Thank you for insisting." He chuckled.

"I belong here, next to my hubby." She said and kissed him for the hundredth time, this time on his left cheek. She loved calling him hubby and he loved to hear her call him that too. She also loved when he called her his wife. Even though they are common, everyday words, it was almost magical when they used them for real for the first time. For real because he would throw the "W" word around way before they were married or even engaged. It made her tingle from head to toe to think that he wanted her to be his wife. That he made plans for the future and that those plans included her as his leading lady. That his love for her had even made him consider all this in the first place.

In the middle of some more kissing she suddenly remembered something that made her chuckle. "Remember when my parents decided to pay me a surprise visit?" She asked and he squeezed his eyes shut, which only caused her to laugh.

Back then, they both knew where they were headed but they were not there yet... They were busy all the time, busy adults in love they were, who wanted to see each other all the time and it wasn't always possible due to work so every little moment was sacred. Every little minute, hour, evening... Evenings turned into mornings and her parents showed up one of those mornings. She was always happy to see them and that particular morning she had been really happy too. She only started freaking out when she realized Ranveer had spent the night there. Ranveer's stuff was there. Ranveer was there. He wasn't there there, he had gone out for his morning workout but he was coming back. If she remembered well, he had whispered to her ear that he was going to come back, help her get in the shower and she thought he mentioned breakfast too. She didn't know how long ago that had been, she was tired and more than half asleep. He got up only because his trainer had him on a short leash or else, her parents would have found them both in bed that morning.

And the maids... She had given them the day off. There was no one to help her hide his stuff. She managed to get a hold of her phone and send him a message while her parents made themselves comfortable. She quickly hid things under the bed and inside drawers when she excused herself to the bathroom to freshen up a little but that didn't really help because Ranveer didn't see the message. What he saw was her dad in the living room as soon as she opened the door for him.

It had been a long time ago but it still made him feel embarrassed. They sort-of managed to cover up their business though nobody really believed them. They ate breakfast together that morning, all four of them and then Deepika's dad and Ranveer had a talk. The talk. A serious, man-to-man talk about his intentions with his daughter. Deepika watched in horror from afar. She knew everything would be fine as she knew both men very well but she couldn't help feeling nervous. She didn't want to rush Ranveer into anything. She sat in the dining room along with her mother, who gave her a knowing look while the men talked outside in the balcony. There was no point in hiding anything from her mom, not that she ever tried, she didn't need to try; the woman knew everything.

A smile came after the knowing look and her mom held her hand. "Don't worry, sweetie."

In the end, it all turned out well, better than they both imagined. Ranveer had to leave though, he didn't want to get in the way - her parents got to see her even less often than him.

Back to the present, Deepika smiled and pinched one of his cheeks. "Arrey, my parents love you." There was no need to get embarrassed. "They were just acting like the parents they are, na?"

He nodded and showed her a small smile. She was right, he totally understood even more now that he was also a parent... "Ria is never going to bring a boy to the house!"

To be continued...
