Deepika was counting the time down to the minute, waiting till noon to head out and meet Ranveer. He was working and she just got back home that morning from promoting her latest film around the country.
It was tougher than she thought it would be, this thing of juggling work and family. She was done shooting but her films required promotion, lots of it and she struggled through it. Sometimes she made day trips that left her exhausted at the end of the day; some other times she needed to be gone for a little longer and took Ria with her. That made it less tiring for her but the bad part was being away from Ranveer and not seeing him for days, having to sleep at hotels and putting their daughter through all that. This was her least favorite part of her work but it had to be done...
As soon as she got back home, she texted Ranveer's assistant, asking him at what time her husband would take his lunch break. She wanted to pay him a surprise visit. 12:30, he said and would make sure there was enough food for both of them. Great.
She showered and got ready with a big smile on her face, almost too fast, almost too early. What to do till noon? Her daughter was taking a nap in her own bedroom. She eyed the clock and then her reflection in a nearby mirror. She looked tired, even more so without makeup but overall, she felt happy. The dark circles around her eyes were overshadowed by her big, dimpled smile. So very happy. She couldn't wait to see him.

What if I lay down right here just for a little bit...
Why not? Ria was sleeping, tired from their travels. She laid down in the middle of their bed, hoping to rest a little. As soon as she closed her eyes, they shot open again. She was too close to his side of the bed, too close to his pillow. It smelled like him. Of course, he fell asleep on it the night before and laid there until early that very morning.
She grabbed his pillow and held it against her chest, burying her face in it. The scent of him blended with that of his favorite cologne invaded her senses. That was definitely not conducive to resting. If anything, it made her feel more alert. She closed her eyes and could almost picture him in the room looking at her with warm eyes and a bright smile. She could almost feel his lips on hers, his taste, his arms around her... Damn, had it only been three days since she last saw him? It felt like an eternity.
But luckily, she was going to see him in a few minutes. She hopped out of bed, looked at herself in the mirror again and decided to change her outfit. She took off her usual jeans and plain top and went with a still casual yet little sexier dress.
11:45. Why not some makeup too, just little. And some perfume.
12:00. Time to go. He had no idea. That made it much more exciting.
12:30ish. Deepika stepped out of her car and texted his assistant, who was waiting for her. He found her and walked her to his vanity van, commenting on how Ranveer had no idea and happy to be her accomplice. She knocked on the door and he left, on his way to find his own lunch.
A not-so-happy looking Ranveer opened the door. His face changed the moment he saw her, but his eyes, those didn't lie. He grinned and she smiled back at him, climbing the little steps that led to the door.
"Hello, Stranger..." They closed the door and found their place in each others arms immediately.
"Well, hello there..." Off and all, he was still his usual flirty self. She didn't wear any lipstick, he knew why, hint hint. Their lips found each others soon. Damn, yeah, it had been a long time. It felt even worse after getting so used and serious and consistent with their homework, despite Ria's occasional interruptions. They kissed slowly though, gently, enjoying every second of it. The need was there but it didn't take over.
