Tale of Two Lovebirds

Chapter 14

"She'll be fine. She's a big girl after all."

Tiny little footsteps and a door creak announced that their little one was up. She would head towards their bedroom every morning as soon as she woke up. They were used to it and still Deepika had to get off Ranveer and back to her side of the bed. And yet, he didn't let go of her lips until Ria opened the door.

"Good morning, my sweet little girl." Deepika greeted her daughter over-enthusiastically, trying to distract her in case she saw anything, although they were only kissing.

"Hi mommy." Ria grinned looking sleepy, hugging her purple elephant and rubbing her eyes, still adjusting to the sunlight beaming through the windows. She climbed on their bed like every morning and met with her mom's open arms for a hug.

"Morning, Princess. Can I have a hug too?" Her papa asked and Ria nodded, trying to reach out to him but mommy didn't let go of her.

"No, she's mine. I asked for a hug first." Deepika said with a childish tone, tightening her arms around her and kissing her cheek. Ria giggled, looking at Ranveer. He pouted playfully and Ria put her arms around her mommy's neck, enjoying the kisses and the attention from both of them.

"Fine, I'll hug the pillow." He said and did hug his pillow. Ria giggled again and threw her stuffed animal at him. "I don't want your elephant, I want a hug from you." He pouted again and Ria looked at her mommy imitating his pout; it was funny, she knew her papa was being silly. Deepika smiled and pouted back at her.

"I know, I can't resist that face either." She told her daughter and let her go hug her beloved papa.

Ranveer smiled, loving Deepika's comment and hugged his Princess. "Thank you, Ri. I love your hugs." Ria could barely hug him, her little arms could only reach so far and she got lost in her papa's strong embrace.

"I love you too." She answered and he hugged her tighter.

Deepika watched them with a big smile and teary eyes, extremely proud of her lovely little family. "Damn hormones..." she whispered, wiping away her tears.

"Guess what, Princess? Mommy and I have a surprise for you." He said smiling at Deepika, who looked back at him feeling worried and excited at the same time. Not yet! They didn't plan what to say or how to say it. But of course, he didn't think any planning was needed...

"Surprise!" Ria exclaimed excitedly and he loosened his arms around her so both of them could see her reaction.

"Yes, a surprise! A big, fun surprise!" Ria's eyes and smile grew bigger as she heard her papa. "You're never going to be bored again, you know why?"

"Why?" She asked curiously and both of his girls looked at him with amusement.

"Because you are going to have a little brother or sister to play with all the time!"

It was truly a surprise, she truly seemed surprised; eyebrows up, big eyes, she covered her mouth for a second before she got up and started jumping and screaming "Yaaaaayyy!!!!!!"

Deepika and Ranveer looked at each other with big smiles, she really seemed to be liking the idea.

Ria knew other kids had siblings that lived and played with them all the time but she didn't realize she wanted one until papa said she's getting one. She was happy to hear that, she couldn't wait to meet her little "brother or sister."

"When?" She asked when she stopped jumping and landed on the bed on her knees.

"It's going to take a while..." Deepika answered, wondering if they should have waited a little longer. "The baby is really small right now, it has to grow big before it's ready."
