"So, what would you like for your birthday?" Deepika asked her little daughter joining her on the couch with pen and paper in hand. Her birthday was just a few weeks away and they needed to start planning her party, send invitations, buy her gifts and prepare for the big event in general. It wasn't just any birthday, it was their darling daughter's 4th birthday and historically, all of Ria's parties had been big events. This one wasn't going to be any different.Ria's face lit up, "my birthday?!" She exclaimed, excited because her birthday was finally coming up. She was so young she could barely remember her 3rd birthday party but other kids' parties she had attended were fresh in her mind.
"Anything you want, Princess." Said Ranveer from where he laid on the floor playing with baby Dhruv. "Just say it."
Deepika smiled. Ria had her wrapped around her little finger but Ranveer, he was just putty in Ria's hands. He would do absolutely anything for his daughter. Even if Ria asked for a party on the moon, she was sure he would try to find a way to make it happen. And she couldn't blame him. Ri had nothing but pure love and admiration for him.
"I want a big cake!" Ria said with her hands clasped together near her chin as she tried to think of her favorite things. "I want candy! Chocolates! Balloons!" Deepika was quick to write everything down. "I want Nana and Nani to come... and my friends."
"Can my friends come too?" Ranveer asked her and Ri nodded.
"Yes, Papa." She said.
"Okay. Invite Papa's friends." Deepika said as she wrote on her small notebook. "Nana and Nani will come for sure. They wouldn't miss your birthday." Deepika added pinching Ria's cheek and the little girl smiled big. She loved her grandparents. All four of them. Dada and Dadi lived in town so she knew they would be at her party but Nana and Nani had to fly in, same with her aunt.
"You give me gifts?" Ri asked.
"Yes, of course. What is a birthday party without gifts? What would you like?" Mommy asked, her pen ready to write down her daughter's wishes.
"I want a scooty." Ria said.
"A scooter?" Ranveer asked looking at Deepika with a look that said, we're in trouble.
"Yes, like Ayu's scooty." Ri confirmed.
"As in a motorcycle?" Deepika asked slightly confused. Their baby riding a motorcycle? Why couldn't she ask for normal things like the latest doll or a stuffed animal?
"Your friend Ayu?" Ranveer asked. "Must be a toy scooter."
"It's not motorcycle!" Ri clarified. "A scooty. Ayu's is pinky, I want it blue, but light blue only."
Ranveer chuckled. "Okay, let me google that."
"What else?" Deepika asked while Ranveer tried to find out what exactly a "scooty" was.
"Mmm... I want... All the chocolate in the world!" Ri said starting to get playful.
"Riii! We can't do that!" Ranveer said. "You'll leave all the people in the world without chocolate." He chuckled.
"Yeah, baby. That's not very nice." Deepika added. "A lot of people like chocolate."
Ria sighed and said "okay..." She continued thinking. "Then just loooooooooots of chocolate to eat every day."
"Every day?" Deepika asked.
"Even I can't eat chocolate every day." Ranveer said. "Your mommy won't let me, my mommy won't let me, my trainer won't let me..."
