Choti Deepu did not only have her parents all over her, she also had her grandparents who were in town for her arrival. They were anxious to meet her and more than ready to spoil her. Happy aunts visited too and everybody stayed over for a few days.
Having both grandmas around to help with the baby was a blessing for the new parents. They were less nervous and could sleep enough to feel well rested. Deepika was a natural though, she wasn't lying when she said she was "born to be a mother." She was calm, gentle, patient and eager to do everything herself - even when her mom tried to show her how to do certain things for the first time, like how to bathe the baby. Her mom and mother-in-law wanted to help but they just watched and directed her. Deepika was already good at listening to a director, this was piece of cake.
The only thing that worried her was hearing her baby cry, it made her heart ache. She came to her rescue immediately and in a couple of days, choti Deepu was already spoiled rotten; she wanted to be held all the time and wanted to sleep in her parents bed. None of that was her fault, it was her mom who wouldn't let go of her. And of course, dad learned from mom. Ranveer would do the same, drop everything to come to his little princess' rescue.
Both grandmas advised them against spoiling her so much and getting her used to sleeping with them but...
"How can I leave her alone? She's never been alone. I don't want her to feel abandoned..." a troubled Deepika reasoned.
"Ranu never slept with us!" Ranveer's mom chuckled. "Did you ever feel abandoned?" She asked, looking at her son.
"I did." He confessed with a pout and scooted over so he could cuddle with her. "That's why I like getting everyone's attention..." He said jokingly and everyone laughed.
His mom put an arm around him, her son was a married grown-man, already a father, but still her baby. "I'm sorry, baby. It's easier with the second child, you know? You don't worry so much."
Yeah, maybe. And yet he's always been spoiled.
"You'll find out when you have another one. Do you still want many?" His mom asked both of them but looked in her daughter-in-law's direction with amusement. It wasn't such a bad idea, she loved being a grandma.
Deepika looked at Ranveer with a shy smile and he smiled back at her. She was sitting across from them on another couch with her mom, who was holding baby Ria in her arms. Ria they named her, short and sweet and starts with an "R" like her dad's name.
"I actually want five." He joked again and Deepika shook her head, laughing. Five is maybe too many.
"How about three and maybe a doggie?" She compromised. "One down, two to go."
Baby Ria stirred in her nani's arms. "Oh, I think she didn't like that. She wants to be the only one..." said Deepika's mom.
Poor baby cried and cried, this talk annoyed her. She just got here and has mommy and papa, grand parents and aunts all for herself and they are talking about getting her siblings? It makes her upset, or maybe she's just hungry... Her cries always work and soon she's in her mommy's arms and all is good. A few days old and already a fast learner.

Ranveer wanted in on everything too, even diapers. He wasn't too intimidated either but he was very careful when holding her. He talked to her like he did before she was born and Ria just loved it. His voice soothed her, helping her stop crying those rare times when being in mom's arms wasn't enough.
The sight of their tiny baby in his strong arms and masculine hands moved Deepika to tears. He was so loving and patient. She had seen him interact with kids before, it always made her insides melt and ache for what they have right now, but the adoration in his eyes when he looks at their daughter is something new and it's beautiful. She always knew he would make a great father but just "great" didn't do him justice; he was the best.
