Chapter 17: Ao'nung p.o.v

"Roxto where are we going." I groan at my friend as he dragged me after him.
"We are almost there." He looks smug before coming to a stop.
"What are we doing here?"
"Close your eyes and keep standing here, you will know when to open your eyes." Roxto spoke before leaving me. Then I heard a roar and I smiled recognizing whose roar it was. I heard the flapping of wings before the voice of Neteyam "You can open your eyes."
I did and saw the forest boy sitting on top of his Ikran with his hand stretched out for me "I believe I promised you a flight in the night sky."
I smiled taking his hand "I remember."
"Get on then." He helps me up on Summus.
I climbed on top of the Ikran and wrapped my arms around his torso just like last time. I placed my head in the croak of his neck and placed a kiss on his skin there. "Not fraternizing while I am flying." Neteyam scolds me before he told his Ikran to fly off.
"But it can be so much fun." I whisper in his ear as I placed on of my hands on his thigh squeezing it teasingly.
Neteyam groaned and grabbed my hand, putting it back where it was before "Keep your hands around me, we don't want you falling off."
"So why did you decide to take me out flying this night?"
"Because I wanted to." He says "Now look around you and enjoy the view."
I chuckle but as we break through the clouds and saw the stars shining in the night sky, the water beneath us glowing by the flora in the water, like Eywa's beating heart. I could see the lights of the village and when I looked back at Neteyam I saw he had turned his head to me to watch me. The bioluminescent markings decorating his face were making him glow even brighter in the moonlight. "Neteyam." I say feeling overwhelmed by the way he was looking at me, he looked at me with love, with adoration and a small hint of lust "I really want to kiss you right now."
"I want that too." He breathed out as he steered Summus to land on an island and when we got of Summus I saw there was a blanket with food on the ground. I looked at Neteyam confused.
He saw me looking at him and smiled rubbing his head "I asked our siblings to help set this up and Roxto to keep you busy."
"Why?"
"Because I wanted to do something nice for you." He tells me grabbing my hand so he stood infront of me.
"You didn't have too."
"I know but I want this night to be special." He breathes out.
"Every night with you is special forest boy." I kiss the top of his hand.
"Ao'nung." He looks up at me before placing his hands on my cheeks "I See you." I smile placing my hands over his ready to say it back but he wasn't done talking "I have chosen a mate and I would be happy if he chooses to mate with me too."
I stilled as I look in his eyes, eyes that waited for my answer. I kissed him with all my might and as I pulled away I placed my forehead against his before speaking "I chose you too." Then our mouth clashed again in an heated kiss.
"We have to tell the clan first before we mate." Neteyam groans as I kiss his neck "you are the next leader."
"We will do that." I promise "But now let me kiss you."
