Chapter 10: Neteyam p.o.v

We were hunting beyond the reef as we had gotten a really good booty. We were about to drag our catch with us back to the clan when we heard a loud mechanical noise. I looked up at the sky since I recognized the noise. My eyes widened when realisation hit, the sky people they are here. "We have to hide." I yell at the hunting party. We all dived and went our separate way trying not to draw to much attention to us but then I saw someone familiar. I couldn't believe what I was seeing as I recognized the Avatar. Quadritch that can't be, he died. My father killed him how could he still be alive. I grit my teeth in anger, the marine had dared to come back . I looked at my Ilu and told it to dive down deep, so I could get closer to the ship, I needed to know what he was planning this time. I tried to be stealthy not wanting to engage in a fight with him. My father would probably scold me for scouting the ship. But I wasn't going to let this monster roam the water freely to attack us at any given moment. I broke the queue with my Ilu and climbed on the side of the ship but as I sneaked around I saw it was almost empty. No sign of Humans or Avatars. I took a look around before I heard a gun. I ducked in time and as I looked up I saw Quadritch smirking at me his gun drawn. "You are supposed to be dead." I hiss at him
He chuckles "I was supposed to be dead but my son saved me."
"Spider." I grumble "How."
"The How or why doesn't matter." He replies "What matters is that I am alive and I can say the same about you." He walked closer to me "Didn't I shoot you."
"The great mother can be unpredictable." I glare at him
He Looks at me amused "I can agree with you on that"
"So why are you here?" I ask trying to move myself back to the edge of the ship.
"I planned to take one of your family members." He smirks "Taking them with me to our base so I am bringing the fight to us, seeing that I lost both battles on your land."
"You won't get away with this. My family will kill you."
"They can try but they won't with you on my ship. " He replies before shooting at me once again. I felt the bullet plunge in my shoulder as soon as I jumped in the water. I made clicking noises with my throat and the Ilu returned, I quickly formed the bond as he swam away with us. I told the Ilu to go faster and deeper to get back to the reef as soon as possible. The reef got closer and I felt myself relax as I noticed the familiar clearing.
