I walk out of the water looking for my boyfriend as I spot him and Kiri floating in an undeep part of the ocean together. "Hey." I say going to stand above Neteyam. He smiled up at me as he got up "Are you ready to face our parents."
"good luck you two." Kiri winks before swimming away from us.
"Did you tell her?" I ask him.
Neteyam looks down "I am sorry, but I needed to talk to someone about you and my sister so happens to be the least blabbermouth of my siblings."
"I am not mad." I tell him "I understand, I believe Tsiyera also has her suspicions."
"I also asked advice from my parents about us"
I raise my eyebrows confused since he was the one who wanted to hold off on telling our parents "I see, may I ask why? Because you wanted to keep our relationship between the two of us?"
"Because I was afraid." He sighs "You are the next Olo'eyktan, what if they don't accept us as mates. I asked advice from my parents because I thought they might be able to ease my worries. You have certain expectations to uphold and maybe you can't hold on to those by being mated to me."
"Oh Neteyam." I smile taking his hand in mine "you don't have to be afraid of anything, we will figure it out together. I want to mate you and if they don't accept you as my mate than it is their problem."
"We should tell your parents." He says "I am not afraid anymore."
"I am glad that talking to your parents helped." I kiss his cheek before pulling him after me.
"Ao'nung? Neteyam is everything okay?" My father Tonowari asks as we entered the hut where he was planning war strategies with Neteyam his father and a few other warriors, including my Unlce who left us in the storm. I saw Neteyam glaring at my uncle still not forgiving him for that day.
"We have to tell you, mom and the sully's something important." I tell my dad who nodded and send everyone out. Our mothers entered laughing. They bonded over the time the sully's had arrived and could be best friends by now, it was nice to see my mother laughing again after the dead of her spirit sister. She hadn't really smiled out in open a lot since she lost her spiritsister. "What is going on?" she asks confused as she looks between the two of us.
"We have big news." I breath taking Neteyam his hand before showing our intertwined hands to our parents "We are in love."
"And we would like to mate with each other and complete our bond." Neteyam smiles.
"We don't care if you don't approve but we love each other and want this." I say but then my parents pulled me in a hug.
"My sweet son, I am so happy for you." My mother whispers in my ear as she caresses my hair "You decided to mate with a fine young man."
"Ofcourse we will approve of whoever you love." My father nods "And Neteyam is a great warrior and will be helpful during your reign as Olo'eyktan."
"Thank you." I sigh relieved returing the hug as I watched Neteyam being embraced by his own parents as well, even though we hadn't let go of our hands. We were then pulled in a hug by both our parents.
"Welcome to the family son." Jake sully tells me and Neytiri kissed my cheek. I heard my parents praise Neteyam aswell.
"It seems that we have become family." My father Tonowari chuckles after our hug before shaking hands with Neteyam his father.
"We should make arrangements to tell the clan the big news." My mother smiles before running out of the hut pulling Neteyam's mother with her. I smiled at my soon to be mate before kissing his cheek both of us feeling happy and relieved.
