Two years later in the Loft......

Each second felt like an eternity, drawn out and stretched into the next. They were both sitting on the floor with their backs against the wall holding hands.
The cell broke into the silence startling them as if they weren't expecting the insistent bleeping. They both stared at first the cell screen then at the applicator on the floor between them. And then stared at each other. His eyes clouded over with a misty sheen at the same time as her fingers clenched inside his hand and a soft gasp escaped from her belly. The diamond and the platinum band on the fourth finger of her left hand both glinted under the artificial lighting from the bathroom lightbulb.
