*ROC*

I was happy Rain let me over, but the tone in her voice in response to my "Hi" told me she didn't want me there. I reluctantly went and sat on the couch, a bowl of buttery popcorn was on the coffee table in front of us with steam rising from the big blue plastic bowl. I took a hand full as she grabbed the DVD remote from on top of the DVD player.

"I bought you gummy bears. And...Twizzlers."

"Thanks." She said in reply.

I didn't realize how cold it was until she sat down and pulled a quilt over her. I looked at her for a second and then tried to reach over her to grab the red blanket that was folded up near her arm. She slapped my hand away and I winced.

"I'm cold." I said, rubbing my pain inflicted hand.

She smiled at me and lifted up the end of the quilt, inviting me under. I scooted closer before pulling it over me. I laughed at the old man on the screen telling Pacha that he threw off the emperor's groove. When Rain started to laugh that's when I was truly happy. She had a laugh that I wouldn't mind listening to 24 hours a day!

As the movie progressed I couldn't stop myself from thinking back to all the bad things the guys and I have ever said to her, and all of the cruel things we've done. How's many times I've been part of the reason for her beautiful eyes shedding more than a few tears. I'd look over at her every few minutes only to have her look at me and smile before watching the movie again. Just as I finally built up the guts to put my arm around her I heard a voice yell from somewhere upstairs.

"She's on her way home!" A boy yelled.

Rain jumped up, and I felt that I should too. A tall boy descended from the stairs and it wasn't until he looked up from his phone that I saw his face. Why is her boyfriend upstairs!? Alone!

"Mom's on her way home." He repeated.

Mom? Wait is that her...

"Jake. Roc. Roc, this is my older brother Jake." She introduced us.

Oh! This whole time I've been jealous of her brother!? I'm such an idiot.

"Awww. I don't wanna leave yet." I told Rain.

Jake smiled at me before resting a hand on my shoulder and looking at Rain.

"I'm going to the Y in a few, ya'll wanna tag along?"

Rain was hesitant. She wanted to say no.

"It's ok...I'll go."

"No!" Rain said quickly, causing Jake to laugh, and me to smile. "Roc you wanna go?"

"I...should probably go home and change." I said.

"Alright bro, give Rain your adress and we'll pick you up on the way iight?" Jake said.

"Thanks."

He gave me dap and Rain kissed my cheek. I walked out to my car smiling the whole time, the urge I had to just turn back and kiss her was like nothing I've EVER felt before. I like her...a lot... like... a lot.
