*RAIN*

I thought it was sweet of Jake to invite me and Roc to the Y with him when he went in for his shift. To limit the awkwardness I sat in the back seat instead of the passenger so Roc wouldn't be in the back alone.

"Hey." He greeted me, getting in the car.

"Hi." I said shyly.

He buckled up and then Jake pulled off. Roc and Kyle made small talk and I completely zoned out, looking out the window as we passed trees and buildings. When we pulled into Kyle's employee parking space I noticed a group of cute guys my age standing by the door. Roc must have noticed too because he grabbed my hand as we walked, silently claiming me.

"You're so dumb." I mumbled.

"Not dumb. Protective."

"Protective of what?"

"You."

I looked away smiling and of course I felt all of the boys' eyes on me as we passed. Jake warned them not to cause any trouble before walking inside with Roc and I following. I looked back to see the group of delinquints disperse off into different directions.

"I don't get off till 4:30, if you wanna leave before then call mom." Jake said.

"Ok."

He patted my head. "Have fun love birds."

"Jake!" I yelled after him.

His laughter echoed as he ran down a narrow hallway. When I turned around I saw Roc's mouth quickly shut. Was he smiling at what Jake said? I just looked at him, then at the ground.

"What do you wanna do?" I asked.

He walked over to a wall with a list of rooms that require time slots, and rooms that're just come and go.

"We can go to the..." He slid his finger down the list and then stopped. "To the gymnastic room."

I shrugged. "Ok."

As we made our way down several halls in search of the right room I noticed there were pretty much just old people an employees here, I guess because of the rain. Entering the room my attention was first attracted to a long blue balance beam surrounded by matts. I kicked off my sneakers and ran towards the beam, flipping over it and landing on my feet.

I bowed dramatically as Roc clapped and cheered. We were the only ones in the room which meant we had it ALL to ourselves. I sat down on the balance beam and watched Roc flip. It was cute to see how hard he would try if he messed up. It was cute how he tried to impress me. After he flipped a few times without messing up he sat next to me on the beam.

"Impressive huh?" He said with a smirk on his face.

I just laughed and pulled his snapback off his head to put it on mine.

"Aye. Give it back!" He yelled.

I jumped off the beam and started running around the room with him chasing me.

"Give it back!" He kept yelling.
