*RAIN*

After I woke up I twiddled my thumbs for what felt like an eternity before my mom finally returned with breakfast.

"Two nice hot chicken biscuits for you, and sausage for me." She said, sitting in the chair by my hospital bed.

"Thanks." I told her.

She gave me my food and I sat up straight to eat. I felt a weird vibe from her, but I figued she was just worried about me so I didn't bother to mention it. We silently ate and watched Sponge Bob on the small TV, it was the only channel not in black and white. Despite the throbbing pain in my head and watching Spongebob sing about what time is best to wear a striped sweater Roc was on my mind. I wanted so badly to turn on my phone and call him, but I couldn't...I wasn't ready to hear his voice. After what Ray did my memory was filled with bad memories of when Roc used to help torture me.

"You miss him don't you?" My mom asked, noticing the blank stare I always had on my face when I was in deep thought.

"Yeah. But I still don't want him to come."

She moved awkwardly in her seat and directed her eyes back to the TV. When she randomly cleared her throat I knew something was up.

"Mom...what do you know that I don't?"

"Um...uh...what do you mean?" She looked back at me.

"Ma! You know what I mean, what happened."

"He came." She mumbled before looking towards the TV again.

"What!?" I tried to push myself more upwards, but my arm gave out and I layed back.

"Angel I don't want you to stress."

"I said I didn't wanna see him!"

"Well you didn't...he just...saw you. Look I'm sorry! But he looked so upset and he came all the way here in his big ole football gear! He looked like he was ganna cry, he was really worried."

I put my biscuit wrappers on a table besides my bed, pulled the covers to my neck and shut my watering eyes. At least I couldn't worry about him when I was unconscious. Plus when you're asleep you don't feel pain...emotional or physical.
