*ROC*

She helped me put away my clothes after we took some pictures and the movie finished.

"So should I go now?" She asked. "We have school tommorow."

I glanced at the time on the cable box. "No, it's only 2, don't go yet."

"Well what do you wanna do now?"

I stroked my imaginary beard. "Let's go to the beach. We can invite the guys and they can bring their girls! Oh I could finally show you off!" I suggested.

"Oh Roc I don't know..." She interrupted me. "They don't like me, I don't wanna go."

"Come on Rain, it'll be fun!"

She frowned and seemed to be deep in thought. Her eyes expressed her sadness and the way she kept moving around showed how uncomfortable she was, I couldn't believe it...she was scared. I wondered if she ever gets scared of me and then shook the thought away because I didn't think I could ever handle the true answer.

"Or, just you and I could go..." I said quietly.

She looked up and smiled, showing her bright white teeth, but then frowned.

"Actually I just remembered that I have math homework to do." She lied.

"Oh, ok, then I'll just walk you home now."

"No, it's ok I can walk alone. Bye Roc."

She practically ran downstairs and seconds later I heard the door shut. Well that was odd...I texted Ray because I knew he had last period math with Rain.

Me-Hey ray, u have math homework?

Ray-No! Lol, Mr.Rivera never gives us weekend homework...

Me-O. K thanks.

Ray-No problem, why?

Me-Just wondering cuz I have math homework and I thought u did

Ray-Lol whatever man. Come over so I can whoop you in Black Opps!

Me-YOU beat ME!? in your dreams! Be there in 10!

I put on some sneakers and my favorite blue snapback before walking to Ray's. I felt guilty at first because I was worried about Rain, but I have to be careful not to force myself on her because at any second she could shut me out. That's something you have to always worry about when you used to bully your crush...her choosing she wants you out of her life.

"Bro!" Ray greeted me at the door. "Let's get this game started!"

After I LET Ray beat me in a round I paused the game.

"Oh nah playa! Now that I'm winning you wanna quit!? No." Ray snapped.

"Can you chill man, I needa talk to you."

Ray sucked his teeth before nodding, telling me I could go on.

"So there is this girl..."I started.

"Rain!?"

I gulped and played it off by lightly coughing. "Eww man, no, I'm done with her. Her name is Lexis. But I don't know man...she's different from other girls. She's not a hoe and she plays hard to get. What can I do to get her attention and keep it?"

He rubbed his chin and raised an eyebrow.

"Does she go to our school?"

I thought for a second making sure Ray didn't know, and I didn't know any girl from school named Lexis.

"Yeah she does." I lied smoothly.

"Mmmk...well do something nice for her, some stupid cheesy thing like hold the door open, offer to carry her books or backpack. Dumb stuff like that, girls like it."

"Oh alright." I said, not really focusing on the conversation as much as I was focused on picturing Rain and I as a couple.

I searched for Rain all morning, but couldn't find her. I even went to the library, which isn't exactly my style, to look for her, but I only saw Angie.

"Hey Angie, um have you seen Rain? "

"She's home."

"Home? Why?"

"Roc go away."

I huffed and pulled the chair across from her out from under the table.

"I didn't say you could sit here."

I looked at her till she sighed and wiped the angry look off her face.

"She's sick." Angie mumbled.

I raised my eyebrow at her. "You're lieing..."

"No." She slammed her reading book shut. "I was with her last night while she was throwing up, she ate meat that wasn't cooked all the way. Her mom feels awful."

She pushed away fom the table and grabbed her book before pushing her chair back in and leaving. Well...Ray said to be nice. I left the library feeling worried, worried about Rain...my baby.

"Excuse me can I have two orders of a medium Chicken-Noodle soup." I said to the cashier.

"Just one second. Your name?"

"Roc."

"Thank you. Have a seat."

I went and sat down and then wondered why, I was the only person there. Of course you have to take into account that it was only 6:30 in the morning. I played with the keys on my key ring and thought about whether or not Rain was really sick. It was possible, but what a coincidence that she gets sick after us leaving off on an awkward foot.

"Roc. Your order."

I could feel the heat through the bag and it made me feel better, I wasn't even sick. I sat in my car for a while, undecided about whether or not I should be doing this. Maybe I should have went to school...eh, I could miss a day for her...or a million days.
