She pulled on the door trying to get out of the locked room. When she realized that wouldn't work the young child sat against the door pulling her knees to her chest and crying. Ruby was now 6, and for the past two years has been tormented by the people who were supposed to raise her.

A gentle knock on the window caught Ruby's attention as she saw a family pair of Green eyes staring into the room. Ruby smiled as the window slid open and the 10-year-old boy climbed in, his messy black hair now covering his eyes. He came over and hugged her wiping away her tears.

"What have I told you about crying, Ruby?" The boy said softly.

"Clyde and Janet aren't worth my tears," Ruby said with a sniffle.

"That's right, save those tears for important things." the boy said smiling softly at Ruby

"Thank you, Tommy," she said putting her head on his shoulder.

"Now onto more important business, Have you eaten recently?" Tommy asked looking at Ruby.

"No..." Ruby said sadly.

"Alright you're coming with me, I'm not letting my best friend starve," Tommy said pulling Ruby to her feet and towards the window.

"Tommy I can't climb down like you!" Ruby exclaimed worriedly.

"Trust me, Ruby, I won't let you fall," Tommy said guiding Ruby down.

The climb down felt like forever as Tommy carefully lead Ruby down. Ruby, while scared, trusts her best friend completely. At the end of the climb down, both got down safely.

"I told you," Tommy said with a smirk.

Ruby playfully hit his chest "shut up"

Tommy just smirked "let's get you food"

Tommy watched Ruby eat the Big Mac he bought for her as he took a bite of a Chicken Nugget. He knew that her Foster parents didn't treat her well so he decided to care for her. He loved her smile, it was so cute and beautiful.

Ruby finished her food "thank you, Tommy"

Tommy smile at Ruby "just taking care of my best friend" he said reaching over and messing up her hair.

"Hey!" She exclaimed trying to fix her hair.

Tommy looked up and saw a cop walking into the McDonald's. Without speaking he grabbed Ruby's hand and pulled her with him as he ran out the second exit. He heard the cop chasing them, he knew it was because of curfew.

"Tommy?" Ruby questioned as she was being pulled along.

"We are out past Curfew, don't worry I won't let you get caught," Tommy said as he ran into a dark alleyway.

"What about you?" She questioned frantically.

"I'll be fine, my dad will understand," Tommy said as he pushed Ruby behind a dumpster "stay here, ill be back for you."

Ruby nodded at Tommy, the cop got closer so Tommy lead the cop away from Ruby. Ruby stayed silent and hid, but as time went on she realized Tommy wasn't coming back. She came out from her hiding spot not knowing how to get home she walked down the street.

Ruby stopped in front of a pawn shop and sat down, she was scared, alone, and lost. Bill watched the little girl, he wondered why she was out this late. She looked at him and he felt confused, no one was able to see him.

"Who are you?" She asked softly.

"You can see me?" Bill asked confused.

"You're a ghost, right? Im able to see ghosts" Ruby said calmly.

"My name is Bill Harvelle," Bill said smiling at Ruby.

"Ruby Winchester," she said.

Bill looked angry for a moment then calmed down. "As in John Winchester's kid?"

"Not anymore. He abandoned me" Ruby said sadly.

"He's the reason I died, your better off without him," Bill said frowning at the little girl. "Now im just trying to get back to my wife and kid but my Wedding ring is stuck here."

Ruby looked at the pawn shop, "I'll get your ring for you, and I'll help you find your family I promise."

Ruby looked at the ring in the window display and concentrated. The ring began to move as Ruby's nose bleed strange black blood. Bill watched in disbelief as the ring floated threw the door's mail slot and into Ruby's hand.

"How did you do that?" Bill asked.

"I don't know, I just realized I could do it a year ago," Ruby said with a shrug.

"Ruby! There you are!" Tommy yelled running up to Ruby and hugging her. "I was so scared when you weren't hiding where I left you, don't scare me like that again."

"Im sorry Tommy, I was just meeting Bill," Ruby said sadly.

"Well tell your Ghost friend I say hi, let's get you home before Janet and Clyde wake up," Tommy said leading Ruby back home.

Tommy didn't believe in ghosts and he didn't believe that Ruby could talk to them. Still, he didn't discourage her, with everything she had been through he figured she needed someone to accept her. Talking to imaginary friends and all.

Getting Ruby home safely Tommy left to go home himself. Bill still with Ruby found it strange how she snuck out and into her home. Until he met Clyde and Janet the next morning, and that was the moment that Bill decided to teach Ruby everything possible to protect herself, and to teach her to hunt so she could get away from these people.
