Ruby was now 10, she and Bill had been hunting for a while now. Tommy had become less worried as he noticed Ruby was better away from her foster parents. Bill and Ruby were on a hunt, it was a haunting.

"Normally you would use an EMF to find signs of a haunting but because we both make it hot you have to do it the old-fashioned way," Bill explained to Ruby as she walked into the haunted house.

"You mean look around and try to get a reaction," Ruby said with a smirk.

Bill nodded and Ruby walked deeper into the house. A family that lived in the house was found dead. So Bill was excited to teach Ruby about her first ghost.

They had not even been in the house for more than a few minutes when Ruby found herself staring down a Barrel of a gun. She looked at the man and she felt deep inside she knew who exactly this was. John Winchester, her dad, was pointing a gun at her head.

"Who the hell are you?" John asked as he cocked the gun and aimed at her head.

"Fuck it's John" Bill said looking at the sadness on Ruby's face. "He doesn't even recognize you does he?"

Ruby took a deep breath, telling herself she wasn't scared "John Winchester himself. Seems we picked up the same hunt" Ruby said glaring at him.

He lowered his gun still looking at Ruby with Suspicion "aren't you too young to be a hunter?"

"Aren't you too old?" Ruby remarked angrily. "Besides my age didn't stop you from pointing that gun at me"

"That's my Girl, tell him who's in charge!" Bill said proudly.

John looked taken aback by the sassy ten-year-old girl. "Don't talk back to me!" He said angrily.

"Or fucking what! I'm not your goddamn kid!" Ruby yelled angrily.

John harshly grabbed her arm pulling her closer to him. This angered Bill as he for the first time ever came forward. Pushing John away from Ruby and standing in front of her protectively.

"Leave Ruby the fuck alone, John!" Bill yelled as the room got colder.

"Bill? Ruby?" John said looking confused.

Ruby held her arm as it was now bleeding, John had scratched it as he was thrown away "Bill I'm okay." Ruby said, her voice shaking.

John saw her black blood and raised his pistol to shoot at her. He shot her in the stomach and she stumbled backward in surprise. Bill looked at Ruby with worry as she began to bleed more.

"Bill, why are you protecting her, she's not human!" John yelled to the ghost of his old friend.

"Because I won't abandon her like you did! Is this how you treat Sam and Dean?" Bill said he was buying Ruby time to heal so they could get away.

"What do my kids have anything to do with that monster!?" John yelled angrily.

"SHE IS YOUR KID, RUBY WINCHESTER THE DAUGHTER YOU ABANDONED!" Bill roared, pissed off.

John stopped for a second looking at Ruby, he remembered the child. "That monster is no child of mine," John said emotionlessly.

Ruby's heart sank when she heard this, tears in her eyes she got off the floor and ran. John shot her again as she ran, she took a bullet to her left shoulder. Bill followed Ruby unsure what to say.

From behind both of them, they heard John yelling"If you ever come near my Sons I will kill you!"

Ruby was crying in the park near Tommy's house. It was 2 in the morning and she and Bill just got back. Bill was pacing angrily, both were bothered by the run-in with John.

"I can't fucking believe that piece of shit! How could he say that to his own kid!" Bill angrily ranted.

"Am... am I really a monster?" Ruby asked Bill, sounding broken.

"No, absolutely not! Ruby, what your mother did to you is not your fault. It will never be your fault." Bill said, kneeling down in front of Ruby.

"I wanted to meet Sam and Dean," she said sniffling.

"I'm sorry Ruby, I don't think you can do that anymore," Bill said sadly. "Listen go talk to Tommy, he always knows what to say"

Ruby nodded and went to stand up when she heard "what happened Ruby, why are you out here crying?" Tommy said from behind her.

Ruby looked at her best friend and broke down into sobs "I met my dad" she said in between her sobs.

Tommy wasted no time pulling Ruby into a hug letting her cry on his chest "what did he do?"

"He" she hiccuped "called me a monster" she hiccuped again, "told me if I ever went near my brother's" another hiccup "he would kill me" she finished and hiccuped again.

Tommy didn't say anything, he just held Ruby and ran his hand through her hair. He wanted her to let it all out, he knew her Father abandoned her and she wanted to find her family. This was a huge blow to her already fragile mental state, Tommy found himself angry at the man who brought Ruby into this world just to throw her aside.

After a while, Ruby fell asleep in Tommy's arms. He picked her up softly and carried her to his house. His dad was away on another Business trip so he could let Ruby stay the night.

"Don't worry Ruby, I won't let anyone hurt you again." He said softly as he set her on his bed before going to sleep on the couch.

Bill watched everything with a smile, he couldn't wait for the two kids to finally admit their feelings to each other. Although Bill missed his family he wouldn't be able to leave Ruby right now. He had so much more to teach her and show her.
