Chapter 22

"Where did she go, Bobby?" Sam asked calmly as Dean was currently cursing.

"Best guess, she took a case I gave to a Hunter named Tommy," Bobby said.

"Fuck! She's with another hunter!" Dean exclaimed angrily.

"What's wrong with that?" Bobby asked, confused.

"She has a rare thing called Ectoplasmic Infection. Her blood is black and she has freaky powers. Most hunters would think she's a monster." Sam explained calmly.

"Balls!" Bobby said, calling Tommy.

Tommy watched Ruby sleep, he knew he was being creepy but he couldn't bear to look away. She had grown up into a beautiful woman, her once dark crimson hair had lightened to a more blood-red color, and her face had sharper features. As much as he tried not to, he couldn't stop himself from looking at her breasts, They had really grown, he guessed they were about a D cup.

Tommy was distracted from these thoughts when Bobby called him, stepping out of the motel room he answered "Hello Bobby."

"You finish up the hunt kid?" Bobby asked.

"It was a Djinn, and I found someone from my past being fed on by it," Tommy said there was a bit of anger in his voice.

"Listen, two Hunters I'm close with, Sam and Dean Winchester, only just found out they have a sister. She ran off on a road trip, Have you seen a sassy redhead over there" Bobby said.

"Winchester? Wait a minute, is Ruby Winchester their sister!?" Tommy exclaimed in surprise.

"That's her name, do you know her?" Bobby asked.

"She's my childhood best friend. The Djinn was feeding on her. She thinks I'm dead... and she hasn't woken up yet for me to tell her I'm alive." Tommy said in confusion.

"Well... her brothers are on their way," Bobby said, hanging up.

"Hunters... god I hope she's not one," Tommy said heading back into the room.

"Good news, she's safe," Bobby told Sam and Dean.

"What's the bad news, Bobby?" Dean asked.

"The hunter she's with said she thinks he's dead and it doesn't sound like he knows she's a hunter. Also, she's recovering from a djinn." Bobby explained.

"You said Tommy... is this Tommy Winter?" Sam asked.

"Yeah, that's the kid's name, been a hunter for four years now," Bobby said.

"Im gonna kill him," Dean growled storming out of the house.

"Why is he angry?" Bobby asked Sam.

"Because we both saw Ruby at Tommy's grave and now we find out she suffered like that for no reason. Im going to kill him too" Sam said leaving.

"That kid is fucked" Bobby said shaking his head.

A few hours later Ruby started to wake up. Her eyes opened to stare at a blue wall. She groaned and rubbed her eyes, her head felt like a semi ran over it.

"You're awake!" A familiar voice full of worry said.

Ruby looked over at Tommy and sighed "Still dreaming" she muttered upset.

"No, you're not, it's really me Ruby" Tommy said, grabbing her hand.

She pulled her hand back "No, you're dead... YOU DIED!"

"No, I'm right here Ruby," Tommy said calmly, this wasn't going well.

Ruby climbed off the bed and held the pillow like a weapon "Liar! What are you!?"

Tommy slowly moved towards Ruby "It's me, Ruby, it's Tommy." He tried to reason with her.

"No!" She smacked him with the pillow and ran for the door.

Tommy tried to grab Ruby but she was fast, so he chased her. Sam and Dean pulled up just in time to see Ruby getting chased by who they assumed was Tommy. Dean was out of the car first running after his sister, Sam was right behind him.

"Ruby!" Dean yelled, catching up and pulling her into his arms.

"Dean?" Ruby questioned then hugged him tightly "It's not Tommy, it can't be!"

Dean held his sister tightly and glared at Tommy "Ruby, it's really Tommy, Bobby confirmed it."

"No! No! He died!" Ruby cried out, Dean actually saw she had tears.

"Sammy, she's crying, what do I do?" Dean asked, confused.

"Ruby, come here, it's okay," Sam said, taking Ruby from Dean.

"Ruby..." Tommy said before both brothers glared at him.

"So Tommy, would you like to explain to me why you hurt my sister with your fake death?" Dean asked angrily.

"I did it to protect her," Tommy said, looking at his crying friend.

"Protect her from what?" Sam asked as he noticed Ruby was listening.

"Demons! Okay, they were looking for Ruby! I couldn't let them have her, so I faked my death and became a hunter!" Tommy yelled out.

Dean took a breath and then punched Tommy in the face. "YOU DID A SHIT JOB AT THAT!" Dean yelled fuming. "They never lost her fucking trail! Instead, she lost someone she loved! If Sam and I didn't run into her on that hunt she would be dead!"

Sam let go of Ruby and placed a hand on Dean's shoulder. "Calm down Dean, go watch Ruby."

"So what did you make her a hunter? Couldn't let her be a child?" Tommy spat out at them.

Sam punched Tommy this time, sending the man to the ground. "She was already a hunter, fighting ghosts, running from demons alone. My fucking sister only had you and you left her!"

Sam turned and walked towards Ruby pulling her into his chest protectively "I'm sorry the man you love is such a selfish asshole."

"Love? What are you talking about, she doesn't love me, we are just friends." Tommy said from the ground.

Ruby sniffled, her face wet from her tears "I always loved you, if you had asked I would have stopped hunting." She said softly.

"How long have you been hunting, Ruby?" Tommy asked with anger.

"Since my first road trip, you didn't even believe in the ghosts I saw. Would you have believed I hunted monsters?" Ruby said sadly.

Tommy looked at Ruby with regret and tried to say something, anything. In the end, Sam and Dean lead Ruby away from the beaten man, Ruby doesn't even bother to look back at him. Tommy felt guilt and regret, he thought he was protecting her. Instead, he drove her into more danger. He lost her all over again, and it hurt more because he knew she loved him.
