"I know you don't like celebrating your birthday but it'll be fun," Althea says reassuringly through the phone

"When did you become physic?" I decide to tease her and smirk when I hear her snort

"Very funny asshole" I smile to myself knowing she would be rolling her eyes with annoyance

"You love me" I smile proudly at how easily I piss her off

"I guess" she sighs but I knew she was smiling

"Ha Ha" I mock

"Anyways, is it okay if I bring someone?" Althea asks seriously

"Yeah, I don't mind. Are you planning on bringing a friend?" I shrug and ask with interest

Kill me for being curious

Althea never mentions anyone to me, let anyone asks to bring them along to something we're doing.

"Something like that" is all she says and that makes me more confused and intrigued

Something like that?

What does that even mean?

The way she said that gives the impression that the person she was planning on bringing is anything but a friend.

My jaw clenches protectively at my cousin being with yet another asshole. I never met any of the guys she 'associates' with but I knew they were all assholes that didn't deserve her.

She was pretty straightforward with what she wanted from people and yet they thought they could disrespect her for not giving them everything they demanded of her.

Althea has never been in love. I think she chooses douchebags to ensure that she keeps her heart safe.

Well, it was more like I knew that was what she was doing because that's what I used to do until I met Ariadne.

My Aria.

She's the best thing that's happened to me. There was a time when I told myself I could never feel anything for anyone other than lust and that I didn't like Ariadne.
