It was still the middle of the night when Lauretti brought us back. Sorina and Oana were blue-ball gassed to follow commands like zombies while I still had my right mind, whatever was left of it.

Lauretti had said that the time flow was favorable for us. The land or world or universe...Lauretti was vague on the exact definition...where we were healed, about three hours went by for every hour at Baemardis, so our nine hours there equaled three back here.

Hidden passageways riddled at least the Realm side of the granite keep. Below the stairs in one of the passageways was a basement that kept equipment similar to the transmission equipment that sent us from home to this world and from the healing location back to here. Like in Uncle John's house, three big rings rotated when we came back through. There were several rooms in the basement, including a couple similar to that other place where a healing chamber used to be. We didn't linger but went up several flights of stairs before returning to Ellie's rooms. Since Sorina was doing a deathwatch on me, nobody had done a midnight check.

Once there, Lauretti un-zombie-fied the girls and left. There were doors behind the tapestries, but it took the hand of someone born of the Realm to open them. I now knew how to get in and out. I'd tell Ellie, but that was it for now. I didn't need Oana gutter sniping all over the hidden passages and chambers.
