CHAPTER 21
[ New Orleans, 2011 ]

Georgia was surprised she had made it home in one piece. Davina had awoken and passed out again in a matter of moments, her grief making it hard for her to stay awake. The young girl had suffered so much in the last few months that Georgia feared losing Tim could be the last nail in her coffin. She carried her unconscious sister through the silent streets that were littered with reminders of the casket girls celebration and had brought her back to her apartment. A small, shabby place that Georgia had began to rent during her exile as she couldn't bare to return to their family home alone. She had insisted upon having two bedrooms, knowing one day she and Davina would live there and today was the day that that finally came true.

She had taken what was left from the attic of St Anne's as well as some things from Davina's childhood room and used it to make the room more comfortable and less alien. It was littered with sketches and records of old jazz music. Georgia wondered if she even knew her sister anymore, if this was who she still was. She knew more than anyone that 8 months could cause a person to change drastically as she was once a shy timid girl who couldn't stand up for herself and now here she was, in the centre of all this drama and stronger than she ever was before. She lay Davina upon the bed and tucked her in, hoping that when she awoke she would appreciate her efforts.

Closing the door, Georgia couldn't help but let a few tears slip. She had almost lost her sister tonight - Again and once she had made certain that Davina was okay, she would deal with Klaus and this time she wasn't afraid of the consequences.

A rush of wind blaring through the window caused her to stand on edge. She backed slowly against the wall, knowing she hadn't left the window open, the neighbours cat had a habit of climbing through windows and she had had one too many run ins with Miss Mittens. Georgia looked around and unplugged the lamp that was sat beside her on the coffee table, hoping it would make for a good weapon as she completely disregarded her magical abilities. "Who's there?"

"Forgive me.. I mean you no harm" Georgia couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief as she sat the lamp back down and locked eyes with the man in the suit. Elijah stood solemnly by the window, speaking up as Georgia attempted to calm her nerves. "I just wanted to make sure you and Davina were alright"

"Come in." She felt the emotions within her swell as Elijah stepped towards her and before she knew it she was enveloped in his arms. Elijah wasn't usually one for hugs, but he hadn't even realised that he was pulling the girl closer to his chest with each passing breath. She was shaking and he wasn't sure if it was to do with him frightening her or the draft coming through the open window.

Georgia pulled her head from the crook of his neck and looked up at the man, still wrapped in his arms. "She's alright.. just devastated"

He nodded, soothingly running his fingertips along her spine through her thin t-shirt. "And how are you?"
