I was just minding my business in the Butterfly Mansion, filing away various medicines and tonics when he showed up. I've seen and heard of Uzui Tengen before, the sound hashira, but I never had the chance to admire him up close.

This was the moment though as he strolled in as if he owned the place with a well placed confidence I knew I could never have. My body tensed up, eyes glued on him as I couldn't help but take in all his attractive features. My pulse began to pick up considerably with my mind wandering a bit too far. He was too handsome for his own good, also the type of guy who knew it and probably used it to his advantage. It made me wonder what he was here for.

His eyes roamed around the small room where I stood alone, a bottle of medicine still gripped in my hand nervously. When his gaze settled on me, it seemed to become instantly more intense. We've never talked before but I had worked up the courage to wave at him whenever he happened to pass by. He always waved back, our interactions never being more than that.

Now, however, he gave me a dark look that made goosebumps rise along my arms. His expression looked like all sorts of trouble that made my face heat up. It wasn't a stare that someone would give just anyone and yet he seemed to know what he was doing by the smirk that began to play on his lips.

"Hello there little butterfly, I request your assistance," he proclaimed with a bright smile. His demeanor had shifted so suddenly I didn't have time to catch up as I tilted my head in confusion. The small bottle in my hand slipped from my grasp as dread coiled tight in my chest. The contents of the bottle splashed across the floor, embarrassment rippling through me.

"Damn it! I'm so sorry," I panicked, dropping to my knees to retrieve the now empty bottle. My pants dampened in the medicine, liquid seeping into my clothes uncomfortably. When Tengen crouched down by my side and reached out to hold my hands, I froze. His skin was warm against mine and sent a shiver down my spine.

"It's alright, you don't need to clean this up. What I need from you is bigger," he whispered, now close enough where I could feel his breath against the side of my face. It was only making me more flustered as my eyes averted away from his meaningful stare. His grip on my hands tightened as I held my breath.

"I should clean this up first before Shinobu finds out but what do you need from me?" I questioned quietly, allowing Tengen to hold my hands gently between us. He suddenly pulled me closer, causing me to stumble against his chest. His deep chuckle reverbated against my body. When I looked at him with wide eyes, he only smirked back.

"You're coming with me, little butterfly," he whispered. I had only a moment to wonder what he meant before I was grabbed. Shock coursed through my veins as Tengen tossed me onto his shoulder without any other explanation.

Instantly squirming to get free, his hold on me tightened to secure me as he turned to leave the room. I wasn't sure what to do other than squirm and kick, my voice locked away in shock. I could only watch as we turned down hallway after hallway before sunlight hit me and we ended up outside. Kicking harder, someone finally noticed my distress and kidnapping when I eventually found my voice.

"Let me go! What the hell do you think you're doing?!" I yelled out, hitting my fists against his back. If he cared, he didn't show it with his pace not even slowing. Screaming and crying filled the air as I spotted the three little girls reaching out to me. Kanao stood silent as usual by them with a panicked expression that made an ache spread in my chest.

"I need someone on this mission and you're beautiful to play the part," Tengen offered as an explanation as he jumped up onto a low wall that bordered the Butterfly Mansion. Unease settled in my stomach at the prospect of being dragged who knows where. If I was leaving this estate it was going to be of my own accord, not anyone else's. Hitting harder, I shouted a little louder.

"Why wouldn't you ask first? You could've given me a chance to answer earlier before trying to kidnap me," I angrily frowned. A familiar shout from down below us made me perk up. Tanjiro stood there with a furious expression, the other butterfly girls of the mansion crying out for my release. It warmed my heart to see how much they cared about my well being. It didn't seem to please Tengen though as he turned to face them, addressing Tanjiro's demand for my freedom.

"I am your higher up. This lovely little butterfly is coming with me whether you all like it or not. Isn't that right y/n?" he slyly called over his shoulder. I slumped in defeat, letting my head fall in my hand in annoyance. He was clearly getting a kick out of this and though a part of me was scared for where he was trying to bring me, another part of me would've gone with him if he had let me answer earlier.

"Let him go! I don't see you as my higher up and neither does he!" Tanjiro called out. I felt Tengen sigh in irritation, his shoulder coming up to adjust me. My hands planted firmly against his back as I tried to look over my back to see my friends to no avail. Leaning in as close as I could to his ear, I gave in to Tengen.

"I'll go with you with no struggle if you put me down and give me a chance to say goodbye. If not I'll fight you every step of the way and though it doesn't seem bad now, it'll get tiring very quickly," I hissed, trying to knee him in the chest to prove my point. His head turned to look at me with a musing expression before he rolled his eyes.

"Fine. But remember to never defy me again," Tengen called down, addressing Tanjiro as well as me. It was then that Tengen suddenly left a slap on my ass that made me yelp in surprise. My hands flew up to my face in embarrassment as I tried to curl into myself to the best of my ability despite being on his shoulder still. I couldn't see his face but I could practically feel the smirk on his face.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I mumbled bashfully. Gently, Tengen set me down on the low wall, my legs shaky. He still had an arm wrapped around my waist as he leaned closer to my ear, mischief in his eyes. I didn't pull away, letting him get closer and closer.

"Make this quick butterfly, you're lucky you only got out of your defiance with an ass slap," he whispered playfully. I took the message as a threat, swinging myself down from the wall to say goodbye to my friends. I didn't miss the sound of Tengen's voice as I walked away though. "This is sure to be an interesting trip. I can't wait to spend it with you, little butterfly."
