magical places

Lizzie stood at the door panicked and scared. "hey sorry to bother you, my friends son has gone missing and i was wondering if you've seen him. he's like this tall light blond hair, hes only 8" she said in a single breath. 

"cosmo?" i questioned walking around the corner "when did he go missing" 

"oh y/n monica hi, uh yeah he wasn't there when scar went to pick him up" the woman fiddled with fingers. 

"ill help you look for him" i offered looking to monicas mum who nodded saying its okay. monica and i were going to walk around and look while her parents stayed to keep an eye out. 

lizzie and i exchanged numbers so if we find him we could call her and we went off to search. we searched around the neighborhood with no luck asking acouple of dog walkers and people jogging before going further out to the edge of town in case he was all the way out there. it wasnt a big town after all. 

slowly we ended up around my spot where i took mattie the other day and i heard faint crying. i looked to monica and she shrugged gesturing for us to continue into the bush. we slowly made our way over to the sound which was off the path in the middle the trees and tall grass. 

thankfully it was cosmo looking around lost. "hey cosmo, its okay" i said walking over to him. 

"your y/n right, roses friend" he asked sniffling and i nodded. "im sorry i got lost. mattie was telling me about your magical place and i thought i could find it. my mums gonna be pissed" i was shocked by the 8 year olds language but nodded

"maybe i could show you one day but we need to get you back to your mum" i said grabbing his hand and leading him out of the bush before a snake or spider bit us. "why did you want to find this place" i asked 

"well mattie said it looked like neverland and i wanted to find it" the boy shrugged. i smiled at his innocence. before lightly telling him off knowing his mother will probably bombard him later. 

"well next time tell your mother and you guys can go find it" i said pulling out my phone to call lizzie. while i did that,  monica started a conversation with the blond easily talking about minecraft and different streamers i didnt know the names of. 

"hey...yeah we found him...uh towards the hudson bridge...ill explain later...yeah we will meet you there...okay bye" i finished the conversation nodding to monica as we walked the little bit to the bridge. 

soon a car showed up next to us and scarlett ran out embracing cosmo in a hug asking if he was okay, comforting him, checking if he had any injuries, caring about his wellbeing. damn i didnt think my mummy issues were that bad. then scarlett comes over to me and gives both monica and i a hug thanking us for finding him. 

"im just surprised he walked that far from school" i said knowing now he went to the same school as mattie and that was far from the school and for an 8 year old. 

"sorry again for interrupting your hang out" lizzie said as we all got in the car and they drove us back to monicas. sometimes its weird being in a small town. im literally in my teachers car with her friend and her son. then again my schools principle and the mayor are married.

"well that was eventful" monica said as we grabbed our still hot dinner and walked back to her room. i hummed in agreement. 

"ready to win tomorrow" monica grinned taking a bite of her food. 

"as if" i shook my head eating slowly. we continued to bicker back and forth as more of gilmore girls played on her laptop. eventually i stopped arguing and just rolled my eyes with an amused look on my face. she took that as a victory and made one final remark before we went quiet enjoying the show. 

we put our plates to the side and i shifted to lay on monica (as one does) and she ran her fingers through my hair cradling my head as i turned my head to watch the show. she took her hand off my head and when she went to put it down by her side her hand brushed my hip and i winced. 

monica paused the show sitting up. "y/n are you..." she trailed off not wanting to be right i refused to pull my attention away from the screen. i stared forward my eyes blurred. "oh honey" she brought me into another hug like the 5th one for today. 

"everything just getting worse"
