the process of getting out of that hell whole was too long for my liking, i had to see a counselor or therapist at least once a week and i had to follow a meal plan and all this other shit that im definitely not going to follow.

they changed the wraps on my arms to fresh ones before i left and i got in the car with lizzie. mattie was at home with scarlett rose and cosmo. she told me they can leave before we get back though and i shook my head saying it was fine. ill just sit in my room anyway.

i found a pen in lizzies car and started drawing on my jeans that already had various drawings on them. listening to the hum of the carm the radio that was slightly too quiet but it was fine.

"hows everything" i asked knowing shit gets out in a small town.

"no one knows if thats what your worried about, you've been sick at home" she said what the excuse was and i nodded thankful. i asked about mattie and she said he was okay once he understood why i was gone. to get help. thats all he needed to know. and thats all he will ever know.

an hour later we were back in our town. and another 20 minutes later we were back home. the second i walked into the house mattie ran up to me jumping into my arms. it hurt to lift him up but it was worth it.

"hey honey" scarlett said after greeting lizzie.

"hey scarlett" i smiled and she brought me into a side hug. i put mattie down and we all sat down on the couch. i was laying beside rose leaning on her shoulder and falling asleep.

when i woke up i was curled up beside mattie and the others were gone. he had a hand on my shoulder as he read his comic with the other.

i sat up at the smell of dinner being cooked a stir-fry, I think that's what my suggested meal should be. That's what it smells like atleast. my stomach growls in reaction. I sat up taking a deep breath. "dinner's ready" lizzie called out starting to plate it all. I got up meeting her at the otherside of the bench.

she plated my dinner and handed it to me. The 3 of us sat around the table, mattie started eating right away I stared at the meal. Analysing, calculating. My eyes buzzing around to catch up with my wandering thoughts.

Slowly I began eating it and as I did I saw lizzie finally pick up her fork. I ate most of it and I could tell lizzie was happy with the amount. My brain however was not. I could already feel it in my throat. I gave liz a desperate look and she moved to my side of the table holding my hand.

"give it 20 minutes honey" she said softly rubbing my back. I sat there staring ahead thankfully mattie cleared the dishes and pulled out a board game.

"it's a good distraction y/n/n" he smiled setting it all up. I smiled back at him being able to play the game of life.

Before I knew it 30 minutes had passed and I felt fine. We were almost done the game and mattie was falling asleep. As soon as we finished he went for a shower then bed while I started to clean up the kitchen.

Lizzie came in packing away the left over food. It only took 15 minutes to do the kitchen and by then mattie was finished in the shower so I went for mine.

I had to unwrap my arms which was a lot harder than I thought I didn't have any nails to grab at the fabric or pin thingy and I really didn't want lizzies help so she didn't have to see it.

I eventually got it but now my hands and arms are tired. I turned the shower on the coldest it could go and stepped in, my muscles instantly tensing at the temperature. After a few minutes I was finished and I turned it off stepping out.

I did my best to put the wraps back on but they didn't look nearly as good as before. I would leave them off but I don't want to have to keep looking at it.

I threw on my pyjamas before going back to the loungeroom. I pulled a blanket over me curling up in the corner of the couch.

"goodnight sweetheart, don't stay up to late" lizzie said coming back in after saying goodnight to mattie. I hummed in agreement putting the first IT movie on.
