Rey gracefully walked down the corridors in her new dark side attire, a black lace dress and bright red lipstick with her beloved snake charm resting on her chest.

"Good day, ma'am." Said a storm trooper.

She nodded in response. Everyone respected her here and it felt really good. She heard a voice from behind her.

"Scavenger!"

She turned around to see Hux standing behind her.

"I have a name, you know." She said. "And I'm not a scavenger."

"You might have Ren fooled, but you can't fool me." He said, menacingly.

"I'm not afraid of you." She said.

"When you decide to betray us for those scumbags you call friends, I'll be ready." He spat.

"They are no friends of mine." She said angrily.

"So given the chance, you'd kill them with no hesitation?"

Rey stayed quiet.

"As I said, you might have Ren head over heels for you, but I'm not as easy to seduce."

"Head over H- I'm not seducing him!" She shouted.

He took several slow, menacing steps towards her.

"You killed our supreme leader. You've worked your way into our ship and into our lives." He hissed.

He leant over to her, his lips almost touching her ear.

"Watch yourself." He whispered.

Suddenly, Rey flung him backwards into the wall.

"It's you who should watch your back." She shouted, strengthening the hold she had against him.

His face turned bright red as the breath escaped his body. She turned away, dropping him to the floor and walked back to her room. She was going to have to prove herself to Hux somehow. He was the only one who showed her no respect or submission and she was determined to change that. Would she really sell out her old friends and slaughter them to gain the respect of one pathetic man? After all, Finn and Poe hadn't done anything wrong, it was Leia she was angry at.

Rey got back to her room and sat at her dressing table. She looked in the mirror and saw herself in her hooded cloak, her long hair and dainty features. She paused. She had never been so happy with the way she looked before.

"It really suits you...the cloak."

She turned round to see the familiar stature of Kylo Ren in her doorway.

"Thanks."

"I wanted to ask you if you wanted to have dinner....with um...me...Just to talk about everything."

'What does he mean everything?' She thought.

"Dinner sounds good." She said.

"Meet me in the dining room at 7? You know where it is?" He asked.

"Yeah...yeah I know where it is." She responded.

"Okay." He said quietly, turning and walking away.

Rey was curious.

'What does he want to talk about? Is this a formal thing? It's not a date. It can't be a date. Is it? Do I want it to be a date? What did Hux mean head over heels?'

She decided to freshen up anyway, paying particular attention to her makeup and her hair.

She got to the dining room at 7 on the dot. She marvelled at its size - it was bigger than her own hut which would be getting desolate and dusty by now. Kylo was already sitting at the end of the huge, rectangular table. He stood up and pulled out the chair next to him for Rey. Two glasses of wine were already poured into crystal glasses.

"I wanted to talk to you about settling in here, Rey." He said.

"Yeah, go ahead." Said Rey, sipping her wine.

"Obviously being part of the first order means there's work to be done too and it can be hard sometimes...I just want to ask you how involved you want to be because you don't have to be part of all the hands on stuff, you have the option to just stay here if you want."

"Maybe we could just see how it goes?" Rey said. "I'm not really experienced when it comes to this."

"Okay well we could start with some training and go from there."

"I'd like that." She responded.

The servants brought out the food. It was a delicious looking pale soup. Rey took a mouthful.

"Good soup." She said which made him smile.

So they talked as they ate about Rey's abilities and her achievements so far. She told him about the encounter she'd had with Hux and his suspicions as they worked their way through the bottle of wine.

By the end of the evening, both were satisfied with what was said. Rey finally had a mentor to give her some stability and Kylo was relieved that she finally was settling in.

"Come with me." Kylo said.
