Rey was lying awake with Kylo's head on her chest. His body was heaving with each inhale and exhale. He was still asleep - last night was exhausting for him, she could feel his tiredness and his turmoil. Part of her wanted to search his thoughts while he was asleep, but that would be a violation. Kylo would tell her if and when he was ready. She didn't dare move just incase she woke him.He looked so different when he was asleep, so at peace, so still and quiet except for the rise and fall of his chest and the deep masculine breaths that filled his whole being. Rey looked down and smiled at the sleeping man beneath her. She wasn't sure if today was the right day to train with him, maybe he just needed looking after or maybe he needed the session to take his mind off of things. He was probably a little embarrassed about being so vulnerable in front of her.
She rested her head on his and buried her head in his soft black hair which slightly tickled her face. She wasn't quite sure what this thing between them was and by the looks of things, he wasn't either. Neither could decipher whether they were just friends...very affectionate friends or something more. He felt like her soulmate, like they were destined to never be apart. She breathed in his scent. She was worried about him. Then, he started stirring.
Kylo woke up to the sound of Rey's booming heart. He wanted to stay like this for a while so he could just lay in the comfort that was her. He could feel her head on his - even while she thought he was asleep, she still wanted to comfort him but he could sense her worry towards him. It was nice to know she cared which made him smile weakly. He knew sooner or later, she'd be able to tell he was awake, so he took in the last moments of being in her arms and sat up slowly. He looked down at her and smiled at her. She smiled back.
"How you feeling?" She asked.
"I'm okay ." He said, his voice still heavy and hoarse with sleep.
She couldn't tell if he was telling the truth but he seemed a lot calmer than yesterday.
"Do you still want to train today? Are you feeling up to it?" She asked. She wanted to throw her arms around him and hold him close, maybe more but she didn't want to smother him with too much affection.
"Yeah, of course. I've really been looking forward to it actually," he said, avoiding eye contact.
"Maybe we could wait til the afternoon. I want you to take it easy." She said. She felt a sudden urge to care for him and attend to his every need.
"Yeah that sounds nice." He smiled weakly.
She thought back to last night, how close their union made them. He made her feel things she'd never felt before. She had a newfound confidence that she'd never had from anyone. She wished for more nights like that.
The truth was, he could hear her every thought and feel her every desire. Knowing what her innermost thoughts were put his mind at ease. It made him feel like they belonged to each other. He remembered what Hux said about Rey being a distraction and maybe she was, but was that so bad? After all, it felt destined that they should rule together as equals.
What was this thing between them? The question was echoing from each other's minds. Kylo was becoming more and more infatuated, more hypnotised with her and she grew to care for him more and more, forming a strong attachment to him and seeking out the part of his heart he showed to nobody and gently touching it, radiating warmth through him.
Rey couldn't get that night out of her head. She remembered the want and the longing. She got up and straddled him to his surprise, grabbing his hands and pushing them onto the pillow. She let go and moved her hands down to his abs, her hands working their way up to his chest. As she worked them upwards, her body lowered onto him until she reached his head. She interlaced her fingers with his once more, their hands resting on the pillow, her hands, small and dainty and his large and rough yet the slotted together like they were made to.
She looked down at his face and he looked up at hers, his pupils were dilated and his hooded eyes softened as they looked deeply into hers and she realised at that moment, she was staring into his soul, just by looking into them she felt his emotion, his vulnerability and his unbridled desire for her and only her. He tilted his chin upwards, practically asking to kiss her. She accepted the gesture and she slowly leant down, her hair falling either side of her face. The kiss was gentle and tender, charged with raw emotion. She held his face in her hands and drew him deeper into their kiss. He smiled into her mouth - he couldn't stop himself. She smiled back and drew her head back, looking at the man below her who was still smiling at her which was such a contrast from the frightened man who lay in her arms last night.
Come to think of it, until recently she'd never seen him smile. She'd seen the odd smirk, but never a smile. She lay down beside him, looking at him. Nothing was said, the room was silent but nothing needed to be said. Just Kylo Ren and Rey together, basking in each others' company, both reassuring one another solely with their presence.
He traced his fingers down her bare arm and back up again. His skin on hers felt so good, so right, so electric.
She moved closer to him and curled up into his chest. He enveloped her with his arms, kissed her gently on the forehead and rested his head on hers. They were unafraid to show their affection in that moment. Their bond sang around them as their hearts connected. They were beating as one now. They'd both almost drifted off to sleep, when there was a knock at the door.
"Sir, are you awake?" Barked the familiar voice of Hux.
They opened their eyes and looked at one another.
"Under the bed." Kylo's voice echoed in her head.
Rey clambered underneath. She knew as well as Kylo that Hux would grow even further away from accepting her if she knew about Kylo and her sleeping together or the soft, affectionate person he became in her presence.
He opened the door, only enough for Hux to see him.
"I wanted to check on how the girl's training is going." He said in his usual cold, monotone voice.
"Yeah...yeah good. Really good." Stammered Kylo.
"If training is what you want to call it." Thought Rey.
Kylo heard by accident and telepathically shushed her in response.
"I'm still not sure about her." He said suspiciously. "She could be trying to infiltrate us."
Then he heard her again in his mind.
"I bet he's cranky because he never gets any "training" from anyone."
"I'll um keep an eye out." He replied to Hux, stifling a laugh and desperately trying to hold a straight face.
Hux attempted to peer over his shoulder.
"She's in there now isn't she?" He said, his beady eyes trying to glance into his room.
He was definitely suspicious of them.Kylo opened the door wider.
"No scavengers here." He said, shrugging his shoulders.
Hux grimaced. "Well if I were receiving any training from you, sir I would take it more seriously. As she should." He said
Rey held her breath. She racked her brains to think of something serious so she didn't laugh.
"Yes well Rey needs a lot of training. I shall keep an eye on her. As for you, I don't think I'm the right one to be training you." Said Kylo, sensing Rey trying not to laugh and deliberately trying to impress her.
Hux nodded and turned to walk away.
"Hux?" Said Kylo stopping him.
He turned around.
"Remember what I told you about your place and where you stand."
Hux nodded and walked away.
Kylo shut the door and sighed. Rey rolled out from underneath the bed.
"Rey." Said Kylo, walking towards her while she sat on the bed.
"Mmm." She responded.
"Want another training session?" He said, sitting beside her and leaning towards her.
She pinned him down on the bed.
"We could train in the bed or the observation room or the shower." Kylo whispered.
"Who says we have to just have one lesson?" Said Rey cheekily. "Let's try all three."
