Kylo woke first. He looked down at Rey who was sleeping soundly. He was so incredibly proud of her. He knew what today had in store for him.She awoke not long after. Kylo kissed her on the forehead.
"I'm going out to sort some things, are you okay on your own for a little while today?" He said gently. "Cause I'll stay if you need me to."
"No, yeah I'll be fine." She said quietly.
"Only if you're sure."
"Yeah I'm sure."
"Good." He said, scooping her up and showering her with kisses.
She gave the smallest smile, but it was the most she'd smiled in days.
Giving her another kiss, this time on the lips he got dressed and left.
Rey walked over to the cot again. She touched the stars on the mobile, making it turn and jingle. Thoughts of her child consumed her.
She decided to go to the observation room. After all, that's where Kylo went to clear his head. She made her way up through the corridors.
"Scavenger!" A voice barked behind her.
She turned around to see Hux.
"Not now." She said, her temper rising. "I can't deal with you now."
"Relax, scavenger I'm not here to start a fight." He said.
Rey looked puzzled.
"I'm sorry...for your loss." He said avoiding eye contact.
There was an awkward silence.
"Okay...thanks." She said bluntly.
He nodded, turned around and walked away.
'That was weird.' She thought.
She made her way to the observation room and sat at the desk. She placed her elbow on the desk and rested her chin on her hand. She stared at the stars outside, wondering where Kylo Ren could be.
She wondered what the point of it all was, whether she was cursed, whether they were cursed, her and Kylo.
She sat on the sofa and lay her head down, thinking about Kylo. He'd been so comforting and so understanding. He looked after her in such a way that she'd never been looked after before. She shut her eyes and fell asleep.
She awoke in the big, strong arms of Kylo who was carrying her out of the room. He carried her down and into his one of his ships.
"What's going on?" She said as he placed her in the co-pilot seat.
"I'm taking you somewhere, I've been working on it all day." He said, mysteriously.
They entered light speed and came to the planet they had their first training session on. As they landed in the familiar clearing, she looked around in awe.
"I thought we could get away for a few days." He said almost sheepishly.
He took her hand and led her through the forest and into a small hut.
"The hut's been abandoned for years but I cleaned it up a little for us." He said. She looked around. It was still bigger than her hut back home. There was a bed with fresh bedsheets, tables and chairs and everything was clean.
"There's food in the cupboards and place for a fire outside, and it's not far from the waterfall you created too." He carried on. "I really wanted to spend some time with you, just you."
"I love it." She said with a smile. "Our perfect little getaway."
'She smiled,' Kylo thought.
They went to the waterfall, the familiar enticing gushing sound ringing through their ears. She walked over to it and started undressing. When she got down to her underwear, she let down her hair and walked into the water. She swam to underneath the waterfall and stood underneath, letting the water trickle down her hair, shoulders and back.
Kylo marvelled at the sight that was her. He took off his own clothes until he too was down to just his underwear. He waded into the water to greet her. When they approached, he brushed the water from under her eyes, leant in and gently kissed her, the water from the waterfall falling around them. They pulled apart and Rey smiled up at him. He smirked back at her.
She drew him close and placed her hands on his back, putting her face on his chest. He put his hand on her back in response while the other hand moved her hair to one side. They stayed like that as one with the water falling down around them.
Rey jumped back into the water and swam towards the edge of the lagoon, Kylo admiring her as her body twisted and turned in the water. He followed. She placed her hands on his shoulders and jumped up, wrapping her legs around him. They shared another kiss. When they broke apart, he stared up at her. He hitched her up to stop her falling and smiled up at her.
They realised that they both knew that they had each other and days like these to get them through the hardest of times.
