CHAPTER 17

“What are you doing?” Elizabeth asked me, and she walked towards me.

“Nothing, I'm just checking my hair,” I said, looking at her. She nodded and motioned for me to get inside.

I just followed her as we got inside, and when I saw six people sitting on the couch looking at us boredly, I looked around the room.

My eyes widened when I saw the lady that I saw in the woods earlier. What the heck is she doing here?

“You look like an idiot as always, newbie,” she said, raising her eyebrows at me.

“Mag kakilala ba kayo?” The man who's sitting in the middle and holding a cigarette spoke— he's the man that I met when I got here. The man that Elizabeth calls “Tanda”

“No, I just saw him in the restricted forest hunting some beast,” she said smirking, and Elizabeth raised her brow at me, glaring, “What are you doing there?” Elizabeth asked me angrily.

“Anong klaseng tanong 'yan Elizabeth, alangan ay nag bahay-bahayan ang batang' to sa gitna ng gubat,” the man spoke while laughing.

Elizabeth glared, and the man raised his two hands as if to surrender.

The man feigned a cough and cleared his throat. “Mamaya na 'yan Elizabeth, mamaya mo na tanungin kung anong ginagawa ng bata mo sa loob ng pinag babawal na gubat,” the man said and fixed his coat.

Elizabeth rolled her eyes and sat down. “What are you doing? Umupo kana,” Elizabeth said with an irritated voice, umupo naman kaagad ako habang naka harap sa lalaking may salamin.

“You knew already— why are you here, right?” The man asked me, and I just nodded as a response.

“You will join the special class starting this day— you will move here— makakasama mo silang mag sanay, and you need to do some task with them outside this wall,” the man explained. I felt excitement at the same time as being a little bit nervous.

“Bawal ang tatanga-tanga,” the guy with the red hair said, while smirking at me. I just stare at him boredly, make me.

“Enough with that Louis,” Elizabeth said with a threatening voice. The man just laughed and leaned back on the couch.

“Am I late?” the girl with the blonde hair just entered the room.

She looks like the girl in the woods, pero mas nangingibabaw ang ganda ng babaeng kulay itim ang buhok

“You're always late amber, take a sit we're discussing” the man said and the girl they called amber sit next to me and take off her coat.

“Oh, hi!  Is this the human that they are talking about?” Amber asked, and she looked at me closer.

Lumayo naman ako ng kaonti dahil kakaonti na lamang ay mag didikit na ang mga mukha namin.

“Oh, gosh, Amber, sit aside your ass for a while.” The girl in the woods spoke, and they called Amber, who just smirked at her and rolled her eyes.

“My dear sister,” Amber said with sarcasm in her voice.

“Oh, please stop that drama.” The girl in the woods rolled her eyes and crossed her legs.

“Mamaya na 'yang away na 'yan” the man said, “By the way, I'm Felix, the head of this special class” he said and looked at them, I looked at Amber, who's now boredly looking at her nails.

“Before you become the official member of the special class they have a surprise for you, you need to stay alive kiddo” the man said and stood up, I frowned my forehead at what he said, “Alive?” what the fuck?

“I need to go too,” Elizabeth said, and she stood up and looked at me.

“Wait, what do you mean by that?” I asked them, and the man named Felix faced me. “A surprise challenge,” he said with excitement in his voice, and I just frowned my forehead.

“We need to go, enjoy kids,” he said and waved his hand facing the door.

In just a snap Elizabeth and Felix dissappear, and I lean on the couch hopelessly.

“What with that face, newbie?, susuko kana ba agad?” The girl in the wood spoke—I looked at her, and she smirked. I met her gaze— I don't have any plan to take back my gaze.

“Psh,” she said, standing up, “Just call me if you are done,” she said, and go upstairs.

“I'm tired, mauna na kayo, baka bukas nalang ako,” the guy with the red hair said and walked out, and the guy with his sun glasses stood up.

“Hey, Kent, saan ka pupunta?” The girl with her book asks the guy who calls her Kent “Sa labas,” he answered and walked out.

“Tsk,” Amber stood up and picked up her coat.

“Ikaw na muna,” she said, and went upstairs.

I looked at the lady who's now looking at me, and she took back her gaze immediately when I caught her stare.

“Uhm, pasensya kana sa mga inasta nila, by the way, I'm Sabrina— I'm the member of Special Class,” she said and smiled awkwardly. “I'm Kenji,” I said to her.

“Let's start,” she said. I confusedly frowned my forehead.

“Start what?” I asked, "Challenged,” she said and stood up.

“Just follow me,” she said, and started walking.

I just followed her with confusion in my head— she just put her hands on the door and the door opened. It was so dark— we walked downstairs with her holding the torch to have some light in our way.

When we reach the door, she just pushes it open, and the room welcomes us with torches all around the room. In the middle, it looks like a small ring with four stones per corner floating in the air.

“Pick up your weapon” she said and go into the ring.

“I have my weapon” I answered and got into the ring. The ring was immediately covered by the barriers.

“These barriers will help to alleviate and not destroy this area in the impact that will happen here below,” she explained, and I just nodded.
