“Hey, are you hurt?” I asked her worriedly when I got in front of her.
“Don't worry, I'm fine.” She answered and smiled at me.
“By the way, nice game. Hindi ko akalain na matatalo mo ako kanina.” She said it while smiling.
She posed a little by sitting on the grass, and I bent over to label my face to her.
“Yeah, I don't know either. I think it's my adrenaline, that's why I dodged your attack because if not, baka hindi na ako humihinga ngayon” I said to her, and she pushed me softly at my shoulder.
“Nice joke!” she said and laughed.
Tinulungan ko siyang tumayo mula sa pag kakaupo.
“By the way, I'm Fritz Firefox, and I'm a werewolf," she said, and she held out her hand in front of me.
I stared at her hands and then back at her smiley face before accepting her hands and giving her a handshake.
“I'm Kenji, Kenji Scott,” I said to her, and she smiled at me while shaking my hands.
“Nice to meet you, Kenji, by the way, I need to go to the infirmary right now,” she said to me and pointed to her packs, which were not far from where we were standing. I just nodded to her, and she ran to her packs, waving her hands at me.
“Nice game, mortal!” one of my blockmates shouted at me and hit me on the back.
I looked at him full of wonder.
ʼAre we close?ʼ I asked in my mind while staring at him, and he suddenly smiled awkwardly at me, and he looked at his hand that he slapped at me and scratched his head, then he smiled awkwardly at me.
“Sorry I just got carried away, by the way, nice game,” he said to me, and left 'weird'.
I looked at my schedule on the map, 'Potions and spells.' This is my next subject today. I headed to the room where my last subject was.
I was quietly crossing the room when I heard some talking about the full moon as I was passing by in the corridors.
Curiosity kills me, so I stopped to ask.
“Uhm, can I ask a question?” I asked the group of women who were talking on the side; they whispered, looked at me first, and nodded.
“What's with the full moon?” I asked them, and they looked at each other before answering.
“Hunting.” That's what they told me, which really made me frown because I didn't understand what it meant. Then I would have asked more when they left because it was time for their class.
I just continued walking to where my next class was, dumbfounded while thinking about what's with the full moon. I heard that everywhere.
“A penny for your thoughts?” suddenly someone spoke at my side. I just looked at him blankly.
“Sorry, I'm an instructor here,” he said, and I just nodded. I ignored him and continued to walk to where my next class was.
There are many stairs before reaching the room for my next class, and when I got to my next class, I was holding the edge of the door out of breath.
“Mukhang napagod ka kenji,” said the old woman they call Helena and laughed softly, she was the one who took my blood for analysis.
I fixed my coat and walked into the room.
“P'wede kabang magpa kilala sa kanila?” she asked me while smiling, and I nodded and went to the middle.
“Kenji Scott.” I said and walked towards the back to sit at the end.
“What races are you?” A woman asked me when I passed her seat.
“Still unidentified.” I answered her, and the others whispered.
“Pero hindi siya tao hindi ba?.” Another woman asked Helena.
“He's not a human.” The old woman gave a short answer, and I completely sat down in my seat.
“Sa ngayon ay malapit na rin ang festival tayo ang naatasan na gumawa ng mga palamuti sa buong BloodyVille” she said initially and looked at us.
I frowned, 'festival?' I asked myself.
“Kenji, sa ngayon ay irregular student kapa dahil hindi pa natin nalalaman kung saan ka dapat napabilang tatawagin ka nalang kung saan ka dapat tumulong,” she explained to me. I nodded in response.
“The rest, ay pag tutulungan natin lahat gumawa, are we clear?” she asked, and they answered immediately.
“Can I ask?” I asked Helena.
“Go ahead,” she said and nodded at me.
“What's on at the festival?” I asked her.
“The high races will gather for the full moon,” and she answered me, so I frowned at what she said.
“So what's up with the full moon?” I asked her again.
“Hunting,” the woman in front answered.
“That's the night where vampires are free to drink human blood and where werewolves are free to eat the meat of what races they want, and we? Witches like us will take the Vista flower, the flower that only sprouts every full moon.” Helena explained everything to me, but her words didn't sink into my head.
I'm still confused by what she said, as if everything didn't process in my head.
'They are free to kill?' I asked in the back of my mind as I was dumbfounded looking ahead and thinking about what I found out today, 'Am I really safe here?'
“Kenji, hey” a woman in front of me waving her hands in front of my face.
“What is it?” I asked her.
“Tapos na ang klase,” Helena said, and put away her stuff.
“Magpahinga kana Kenji, may bukas pa para alamin ang lahat,” Helena said, and got out of the room.
