CHAPTER 26
I looked at her in wonder as we hid behind the huge banana trees. She immediately wrapped her cloak around our whole body and signaled me not to make any noise.
I held my breath and endured her smell—the smell of an old hag—even though I couldn't see anything inside her cloak. I just followed her.
May narinig naman akong mga nag uusap-usap na tila dumaan sa kung saan kami nag tatago—Helenora take off the cloak when some races have already passed by where we are hiding.
She took something out of her basket— it was bandages. I frowned when she handed it to me.
“Ibalot mo ito sa mga braso mo,” she said as she rummaged for something inside her basket, and she took out a cloth again.
Inabot niya ito sa akin, I just looked at the ragged cloth and I am thinking about what I will use it for and why she gave me these.
“Anong inaantay mo? Pasko? Bilisan mo na at ibalot mo na 'yang benda sa mga braso mo,” she said in a hurry. I took a deep breath and followed what she said.
She sighed and helped me wrap it around my arms. First, she took out the bandage on my hands. When I wake up, my hands already have bandages.
I was surprised when she took out the bandage. I looked at her confused.
“Gumamit ka na naman kahapon ng pinag babawal na abilidad,” she said, as she knew what I wanted to ask her. I remember what she said before.
When she finished wrapping my hand up to my arm with a bandage, she wrapped the cloth around my face up to my head and took a cloak from inside her basket and put it on me like she had done to herself.
I look like a terrorist in this outfit.
“Huwag kang mag salita,” she said, and she dragged me.
Pumasok na kami sa maliit na palikuran, napaka dilim— it helps me a lot when I turns out to be a vampire because I can see in the dark, malakas na sigawan ang bumungad sa amin ng makapasok kami, and I'm surprised when I saw how big inside, na tila ang maliit na palikuran ay isa palang underground field.
Before we could enter completely, we were blocked by a sorceress with long claws that seemed to have come from the mountain in the dirt of her claws. I looked at her grossly when she held my chest to stop me.
Leonora was straight forward as if there was no one with her.
“Bago ka, ngayon lang kita nakita dito,” she said to me while scanning her book full of information about all the races who were entering the underground field.
I didn't answer her— I just gulped when she aimed her long, long nails at my neck.
“Sinong kasama mo?” She said smilingly to me, It creeps me out when I see her teeth. It looked like a saw on its tip, and her teeth were black.
I still didn't answer her. I was just looking at her intently, and I could feel the sharpness of her nails, when suddenly Helenora held me in my arm.
“Kasama niya ako,” she said on the witch, nag titigan muna sila bago ako pakawalan ng mangkukulam.
“Helenora,” she said, and she let go of me.
"Elvira,” Helenora said, and she raised her brow to the witch.
“Pagkain na sana,” the witch said as she looked at me smiling.
“Mukhang napabayaan mo na ang sarili mo Elvira, tila ay pumapanget ka yata—hindi pala, MAS lalo ka yatang pumanget.” Helenora said with sarcasm in her voice.
Helenora seems like she hit the limit of the patient of the witch.
“Wala pa ring preno ang bunganga mo Helenora,” the witch said while smiling sarcastically.
Helenora just smirked at her, and she pointed her index finger at the witch.
“Madami pa akong gagawin na importante Elvira,” she said, and her finger glowing, madaming nagtitinginan na sa amin —and the witch seemed scared of Helenora, and she put her wooden stick down and smiled.
Helenora, drag me out of the entrance.
Sumiksik kami sa maraming tao at umupo sa pinaka taas sa kung saan ay tanaw mo ang lahat mula sa kinakaupuan namin, “Ang susunod na maglalaban ay maaari ng mag punta sa gitna,” the emcee said, and the others were cheering on the fighters.
Similar to how we train in BloodyVille, they also put barriers around the entire battle ring so as not to damage the battle arena.
The illusion started to spread all over the ring— it was a dessert island, which they couldn't hide because it was all sand, no rocks, and no plants.
The fight has started— one can hardly keep up with his opponent, he is doing almost all avoidance, the black spells they can use without limit even if they die.
His opponent already has many wounds— the sand turns red because of his blood.
His opponent was almost unconscious from the amount of blood he had lost. He took a dagger from his pocket and cut his palm. He drew a star inside the circle with his blood on the sand, and in an instant, only the whole desert turned red.
He murmured some spells. I look at Helenora, who is now looking at the battle calmly. It seems that this is her normal day— the others were cheering, na tila ay balewala lang sa kanila ang buhay.
At the same time as he whispered some spells, smoke came out of his body and went to what he had drawn in the sand, and suddenly it burned black and engulfed his opponent.
His opponent screamed in pain as the fire engulfed him. At the same time, his opponent was burning with fire as he was drawing in the sand, and they both died.
