CHAPTER 14

I clearly saw the hairy beast looking at me while his saliva was dripping as he was eager to eat me alive.

The beast moved fast towards where I was lying. My body couldn't move because of nervousness. He pinched me down, and his saliva was dripping into my face. I grossly wiped my face with my hands and picked up the dagger on my side.

Winasiwas ko sa kanyang mukha ang punyal na hawak ko, but no use. He held my arms and twisted them until my arm broke. I screamed at the top of my lungs.

I feel like I'm going to run out of breath from the pain I'm feeling. I close my eyes and just accept the fact-hanggang dito na lang siguro ako-when I close my eyes at the same time Elizabeth calls me in my mind, I quickly open my eyes. I knew I heard Elizabeth. I looked around me, but there was no Elizabeth, and the monster above me was ready to eat me.

I used all my strength and tried to swing the dagger in his face. “Just for now, help me if you really chose me- give me a chance to prove that I deserve to be the one you chose,” I shouted, and suddenly the dagger I was holding lit up, and suddenly it got longer and turned into a sword.

I released a powerful force to ward it off from the monster. The green-colored blood from the monster splashed all over my body and fell on both sides of me.

I was gasping for breath while lying on the ground. I raised my hand while holding the sword, which was surrounded by black smoke. It suddenly returned to its previous form of being a dagger. I was amazed looking at the dagger I was holding.

“Can you stand?” Elizabeth got my attention when she spoke. I looked at her and nodded to her. She gave me a hand and helped me stand.

I picked up my dagger on the ground, “Who gave that to you?” Elizabeth asked me while looking at the dagger.

“Our instructor? para kang nakakita ng multo” I answered her, looking at my instructor, who was walking towards us.

Elizabeth suddenly rushed to my instructor. “Why?” my instructor asked her while Elizabeth was holding his collar. I was looking at them in wonder.

“Why did you give him that?” Elizabeth asked him angrily, and my brow furrowed at what Elizabeth had done.

“The sword itself chose him.” My instructor calmly answered her, and Elizabeth looked at me with wide eyes open.

“That's impossible,” she said while looking at me in disbelief.

“Impossible what?” I asked her, looking at the dagger in my hand.

“That is the curse sword for pate's sake!” she yelled, and my eyes were wide open looking at her.

“What?” I asked, looking at my instructor, “Why did you give it to me when you know that this dagger is cursed?” I asked him in disbelief.

“The dagger chose you, not me. Nakalagay 'yan sa dungeon na bawal makita ng iba at bigla na lamang lumitaw sa harapan mo hindi ba,” he said, looking at me.

I nodded while I was still looking at the dagger in my hand.

“The dagger suddenly came up in the chest,” I said to them.

“Anong nararamdaman mo ngayon?” Helena asks me, and I shake my head about her question.

“I didn't feel anything, I just felt a little bit of electricity when I picked this up in the chest.” I honestly said. Nagkatinginan naman sila sa sinabi ko.

“Tila nagiging misteryo ang lahat, It's like a puzzle that's hard to put together because one piece is missing, and that piece is who your real parents are,” my instructor said.

“Tara na, doon na natin 'yan pag-usapan, hindi pa ligtas rito.” Helena said, and the portal opened in front of us.

They nodded at what Helena said, Elizabeth held my arm, and we entered the portal together. The portal opened at the infirmary, where the other witch was the nurse.

“Please check him to see if he's okay,” Elizabeth said to the nurse, and I sat at the chair beside the table while they were talking about me.

“May alam ba si Helenora kay Lauren bago ito nawala?” Elizabeth asked Helena, and I was just looking at them in wonder of what they were talking about.

“Wala akong alam sa kakambal ko bago ito nawala ng parang bula, wala siyang sinabi,” Helena said and looked down.
