CHAPTER 24

There's so much bone in the rocks, skulls, backbone, and so much more. I wonder if Helenora didn't save me, they eat me alive. I shiver when I think if they eat me.

She twisted my ear while dragging me out of the cliff.

“Hey, slow down, that hurts,” I said, complaining about it.

“Napaka tigas ng ulo mo, bilisan mo na at mamamatay ka ng wala sa oras sa ginagawa mo,” she said, and she started walking. I just followed her.

While we're walking in the dense grass, she suddenly stops. I looked at her confused.

Mag sasalita palang sana ako ng bigla niyang hinawakan ang nguso ko. What the fuck, this old hag is gross.

She pointed her finger at the group of zombie-vampires, eating some humans, fuck humans, I make a second look if I'm just mistaken, it's human, they eat human flesh, I feel like my stomach is going to flip over, I'm going to throw up.

I know it's human— I can smell the blood— it's a different smell from our blood.

I swallowed my saliva when suddenly there was a strong wind and I could smell the smell of blood more and more, my breathing seemed to get heavier and my throat seemed to dry up from the smell of blood.

Helenora held me by the shoulder—

“Huminahon ka Kenji,” she said, and she snapped her fingers in front of me.

I shook my head and looked at her. I just nodded and stopped to inhale as the wind blew hard.

Helenora threw some rocks in the other side of the forest, so the zombie-vampires got there, ng makaalis na sila ay saka na kami pumunta sa kung saan ang iniwan nilang katawan—he's still breathing.

“Tutulungan ba natin?” I ask her, What a dumb question— of course we will help this creature.

“Hindi,” she says plainly, and stands up. I look at the human holding my feet, and I clearly see that he's asking for help—his eyes widen looking at me, fuck.

“But, why?”  I confusedly asked her, seeing his eyes begging us to help him.

“Kung tutulungan natin siya, mamamatay din siya kinalaunan—o hindi kaya kung mabubuhay man ay magiging isa siya sa kanila,” she said while looking at the surroundings.

“Infected,” she said again, and I looked at the human in the ground. I looked closely, his face already had black nerves up in his eyes. I immediately kicked him so that he could let me go.

“How did this human get here?” I confusedly ask her, Isang lagusan lang ang alam ko na p'wedeng makarating dito, and that's the witch's portal.

“May nag dala niyan dito, para sadyang ipakain o hindi kaya ay para mas dumami pa ang mga kagaya nila,” she said, still searching the surroundings.

I immediately dragged her at the speed of light when I heard some footstep near where we were standing— there was someone coming where the human was lying.

Helenora hit me in the head. What the fuck, Niligtas ko na nga siya— I looked at her, but she pointed her finger on where the human were.

“Humihinga pa,” the guy in the black cloak said as he looked at the body of the human lying on the ground.

“Dadalhin ba natin?” Their companion asked his comrades, and the others were shaking their heads.

I think they will leave it, and if that person survives, it will just be scattered and looking for prey.

Maya-maya pa ay umalis na sila at nag-iwan ng marka sa balat ng tao. We immediately came out from where we were hiding, nilapitan kaagad ito ni Helenora, he's still breathing but barely.

“Patayin mo,” she said while looking at the human lying on the ground, and his eyes were looking at us even though it was already black.

“What?”  I asked her in disbelief.

“Bingi kaba?” She said looking at me.

“What the fuck, old hag—he's barely breathing already, why would I kill him?” I ask her in disbelief.

“Malalaman mo rin habang nandito ka sa puder ko,” she said, and I realized I'm here to train— this human is already our enemy if he survives the infection phase. I nodded at her and got my dagger, which I swung and turned into a sword. I cut off straight to the head.

Halos maduwal ako sa pag labas ng dugo sa kanyang leeg, his blood is already black and the smell is like rotten flesh.

“Tara na,” she said and started walking away. I immediately followed her while looking at the surroundings.

She murmured some spells that I couldn't understand, and suddenly there was smoke in her wooden stick. It had a strong smell.

“What was that smell?” I said to her, covering my noise so as not to inhale the smoke.

“Mag takip ka nalang ng ilong at manahimik na,” she said and continued walking as we arrived at the abandoned hut. There's so much zombie-vampire  outside, what the fuck are we doing here?

“Shhh, wag kang maingay,” she said and started to walk inside the hut. Some zombie-vampires were just standing there and didn't move, but the others were lurking around the hut— it seems like they can't see in the daylight.

She gave me an arrow and motioned for me to kill all the zombie-vampires inside the hut. My palm is cold and sweating. I hold the arrow tightly and walk inside first.

I have my bow and arrow ready, ready to aim. There are seven zombie vampires inside the hut. I shot them one by one. But they still stood. I panicked—

I picked up my dagger and swung at them. lumikha ito ng ingay—and suddenly I heard many footsteps running towards here. It was a zombie-vampire running inside the hut.
