⁂⁂⁂
"The usual." I say kindly to Damien and he jots down my regular order of milkshake. Ophelia and Zayn order theirs as well.
"I'll have what Ophelia is having." We all snap our head to Cade at his strange words. He didn't spare any of us a glance.
"Since when do you like strawberry marshmallow milkshake?" Zayn ask, slightly confused. Ophelia on the other hand looks excited.
Cade shrugs, "Ophelia made me like it." He says with a little smile.
"Really?" Ophelia face explained what utter joy means at this point. Cade just looks at her and laughs lightly. My heart sinks at what is displaying before my eyes.
To top it off, I noticed Cade didn't once look at my direction after that brief moment we had just before I got into the car. He still hasn't looked at me since we walked in here. It's like he's purposely neglecting me.
By all means necessary, I should not let this affect me deeper than it already has. I'll just ignore him the way he's supposedly ignoring me.
"Is that everything? Just milkshakes?" Damien inquires. Ophelia nods, indicating that's our only order. He gives a curt nod to all of us and winks at Ophelia, before going to make the milkshakes.
"I have a boyfriend Damien." She tell him, knowing very well that he's into her.
"Still haven't seen him." He responds before disappearing from our sight.
"You keep telling him you have a boyfriend, but you're blushing at every word he says." I point out to Ophelia.
Damien is one of the worker at the diner. He started working few weeks after we started coming here. He has a cordial and amiable personality, so he was easy to get fond of by all of us.
He didn't hide his immediate affection towards Ophelia the very first day he saw her and he's still bent on showcasing it.
"Damien is handsome and all." Ophelia lets out in a fake dreamy voice. "But I already like someone else." She says more heartily, glancing over Cade.
Cade didn't see Ophelia because his eyes are trained on his phone. I decided to distract myself with Zayn by my side. Zayn and I sat opposite Ophelia and Cade in the booth.
Of course, Ophelia clutched him to her side.
"I like your man bun, it's nice." I reach for Zayn's neatly made bun with my fingers. As expected, Zayn blushes.
"You do?" I nod, a smile resting on my face.
"If I had known earlier, I wouldn't have cut my hair. I'll leave it to grow longer from now on." He says, looking at me.
And there it is again....that look of his.
"Is there something on my face Zayn? Cause you keep staring." My question seems to have surprised him by his stunned expression.
