⁂⁂⁂
My Mom leaves my room shortly after and I was left alone to sit with my thoughts. The talk I had with her has resided with me and it has also led me to make a decision I didn't know I would be making so soon.
At that thought, I pick up my phone and head to the contact list. I tap on Cade's contact and he picks on the second ring.
"For a moment, I thought you've forgotten about me." He says first and my lips helplessly drag into a smile at his voice.
It's barely been a day, but I miss him desperately.
"Hey." I say softly.
I have so much I wanna tell him, that I don't where to start from. It's not through the phone though.
Cade's line falls silent for a while. "What's wrong?" He ask with a less enthusiastic tone.
It's funny how he can easily perceive my state of feeling by the sound of my voice. But honestly, I shouldn't be surprised at this point.
He's Cade.
"I need to talk to you." He already knows something is wrong, so there's no need for me to deny or hide it.
"Can you meet me here in thirty?" I run my tongue over my lips, awaiting his response.
"Of course." I can't wait to see him.
"But is there something wrong Freya?" I can picture him with a worried expression. It warms my heart that he's this sensitive to me.
"Do you know any spots we can drive to? We'll take my car." I'm already gonna tell him everything when we see, so there's no need saying anything through the phone.
"Funny you're asking me that, given the fact that you've been living in Raywood longer than I have. I should be asking you that instead." He mocks me and I roll my eyes at him.
"Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not much of an explorer of this town. The introvert in me succeds in keeping me bound to the house, if I'm not hanging out with you guys." My elaboration causes him to chuckle.
It's true. I've been living in Raywood all my life and I barely know the place. It's almost absurd.
"The skate park is the only place I go to for now. I haven't had time to venture Raywood. So sorry to disappoint too." My smile resurfaces.
I need to step out of this house. I need a different scenery if I really wanna do this tonight.
"Okay. I'll see you soon." I tell him and cut the call immediately.
A laugh escapes my lips at how he might probably be staring at his phone right now, wondering what the hell is going on with me and why I just did that.
For a minute, I wanted to contemplate the idea of doing this. If it's really worth it.
Will Cade still see me the same?
