⁂⁂⁂
Cade steps into the room and closes the door behind him. My heart thuds in my chest as I take in his current appearance, seeing how troubled he looks.
His usual perfect looking hair is disheveled, which is clear proof that he has ran his fingers through it many times.
But worst of all, his eyes are no longer emanating the brightness and happiness he once had. His light grey cloudy eyes are darkened and an expression giving out no precise emotion.
He's not okay.
I drag my lower lip between my teeth, unable to formulate words to respond him and his hard countenance only makes it tougher for me to speak.
"You really wanted to drink that?" Cade says the words like I'm holding a bottle of poison in my hand.
I have never been in a position in my life where I had to turn to alcohol to ease my mind or body.
So why am I doing it now? Especially when I know that it's dangerous for me.
"Give it to me." He orders me in a low tone, putting his hand forward. Without saying anything, I put the bottle of vodka in his hand.
I didn't think I was gonna go through in drinking it anyway.
"And the cover." I hand the bottle cover to him as well. He closes it and throws the bottle to the opposite side of the bed.
I watch Cade run his eyes through the room, like he's observing or searching for something, before returning the pair of stormy, darker clouds to me.
"How did you find me?" I blurt out the first thing that comes into my mind.
I know Cade has these weird but rare abilities to trace me no matter where I am, so I don't know why I'm questioning it.
He doesn't answer my question, instead he holds a hard stare on my face. A very strong and piercing stare on me, with an unreadable expression on his face.
I hate to admit it, but this moment right here has proven that I'll never be able to completely understand the person in front on me. Even when I think I do, I still find myself being unable to.
"What?" I say, growing more confused at the unwavering look on Cade's face.
I brush my bangs lightly as I stand up. I move towards him but my heart sinks as I witness Cade do something he has never done to me since I met him.
