⁂⁂⁂
Cade looks far from happy and that's when I realized he has been pissed because of the hookah. There may be other reasons he is upset looking, but by the unhappy look he's channeling towards Jacob and April, I can tell their smoking activity is pissing him off.
"Cade it's fine." I quickly say, hoping to calm him down before things escalate further than they have to.
The funny thing is that I haven't actually seen Cade fight anyone, but something tells me he will beat his opponent to a bloody pulp, if he ever does engage in physical violence.
He may be calm and reserved on the outward, but there's a whole lot more to Cade inwards.
There are things about him I definitely don't know about and from what happened with Alvaro earlier, I can tell he's choosing to keep it that way.
Cause, why the fuck would someone be called maniac, if they aren't in a way manic?
And not just maniac, Alvaro called Cade Scottvile's maniac. That means he's the town's joker or some villain shit.
I want to believe it's a fun or stupid nickname he probably had back there, but the thought doesn't settle well.
I hate to admit something about this scares me and I don't know why.
"They should know smoking that shit around you is dangerous." Cade throws them pissed off looks, making me inwardly squirm.
Oh God, does he need to show his anger? I thought he was good at subtlety.
"He's got a point Freya." Ophelia adds to the fire. I know she's still mad at her brother, but I don't need more fuel to power up my boyfriends mad engine.
"They shouldn't stop having fun because of me." I don't wanna ruin anyone's evening because of my fucked up lungs. Besides, only Cade knows what is truly happening to me.
The rest of them believe I have a slight breathing problem, if that's a thing.
"Actually, smoking isn't worth considered having fun and yes, they should stop because of you." Is he serious right now?
I look at Cade, watching the seriousness and annoyance in his eyes— there's no trace of humor found. I try to telepathically tell him that I'm okay, hoping it works like those other times, but it doesn't today.
"Pigtails, are you okay?" Cade ask openly this time and even added my fucking nickname. Seeing every pair of eyes on me, I wished for nothing but the earth to open her mouth and swallow me whole.
