Hello guys! I wanted to publish this new story I started about a year ago, but kind of forgot and started other stories and almost gave up on it. I figured I could write this and finish up what I started. I hope you'll like this as well, and thank you for your support .xx

A/N - if you see me updating this fanfiction, it's because I'm editing it. I'm trying to make it better, and further announcements will be clear.

V was a well-known psychologist, and basically everyone had heard of him before. Even kids knew who he was, which said a lot because obviously, children wouldn't know much about psychologists anyway. His real name was Kim Taehyung, but it wasn't as famous as his nickname: V.

People had to think twice to recall the name Kim Taehyung. He wasn't just good with his grades during his years of studying, but he was also a genius. Normally when studying psychology, you'd have to study for six years, but Taehyung only had to study five, and now had been a successful psychologist for just two years, which made him twenty-six years old; despite his young age, he was one of the best psychologists out there. He was a role model for students and a rival for established older experts. Simply put, he was the best in the game. If anyone could cure a patient, it'd be him. He was the best out of the best, incredibly talented in his field, and everyone knew that. He had effortlessly managed to get his first patient itself to open up and talk to him, proving how great he was at fixing people's problems.

Taehyung was good at solving the problems of others, yes, but that didn't stop him from having his own. He was rich, famous and successful, but he was still missing something. He wasn't quite as happy as he thought he would be after graduating.

He was lonely.

His love life wasn't that...great. Yes, he was twenty-six (and by no means was he a virgin), but he didn't have a lot of experience with relationships and love and that kind of things. His most serious (and longest) relationship was when he was a university student, but it wasn't marvelous or anything, only lasted a year and ended quite badly. The entire relationship had basically consisted of arguments and hate, and Taehyung hadn't cracked a genuine smile since. Taehyung didn't want a repeat of that again and decided to just quietly focus on his studies. He had finished them ages ago but still hadn't managed to find the one.

Kim Taehyung was a good-looking man. People who passed him would stop and glance at least twice. He could get anyone he'd like with just making eye contact for a few seconds, and they'd at least fall for him. That wasn't how Taehyung wanted his love to become. He didn't want others to fall for his looks. He wanted them to fall for his personality. He wanted them to fall for him, not his looks.

But his life changed ever since he began treating that particular patient, the strange person that had suddenly become his new patient. This patient was somehow different from all the others. He was a lot harder to help. Taehyung didn't normally struggle to do his job, however, this one made him sweat. Taehyung thought he'd eventually go mad dealing with him, but he strangely liked it. He liked the challenge and was determined that he was going to win, no matter what. Nevertheless, this very patient still managed to change Taehyung's life forever, and this is the story of how it all happened.

The day began as usual for Kim Taehyung. He drove from his nice apartment to the building he was working at. When he had entered the main hall, he met his boss by the desk.

"Ah, Taehyung-ah, I need to talk to you," she said with a smile, and Taehyung just nodded and waited for her to continue. "I have assigned you a new patient," she stated as she handed him some papers. He accepted it with both of his hands in respect and then proceeded to read the front page out loud.

"Name, Jeon Jungkook. Gender, male. Age, 22. University, Seoul. Family members," he paused for a second and stared up at his boss. "None?" he asked, and his boss nodded. "Who does he live with then? Alone?"

"He has foster parents now since his family died a while ago," she answered, and Taehyung nodded his head.

"What happened to them?" he asked to gather more information, although it was probably printed on the papers he was holding in his hands.

"He and his birth family were in an accident whilst they were staying in a cabin during a short vacation. Somebody had murdered them, and he was the only survivor," his boss supplied, and Taehyung couldn't help but to cringe in horror. He couldn't imagine anyone being sick enough to murder people like that. Or, actually, he could. He had seen many people that wicked, it was a part of his job after all. That murderer was probably one of them as well.

"Then what is his problem? Was it such a traumatic incident that he gets nightmares about it?" Taehyung asked, expecting another young male who was just ego that he'd think he's the only person going through such an experience.

"No, it's a bit more complicated than that," his boss, Mrs Kim, said with a worried frown on her face. Taehyung only frowned back in response, waiting for her to explain further. "He has many problems, actually. The incident happened after he turned sixteen, and ever since then, he has refused to talk. At all. He has only spoken a few words since then, but never a full sentence."

"You mean to tell me he hasn't spoken for all these years?" Taehyung questioned and Mrs Kim nodded, causing Taehyung's frown to deepen as he glanced down at his papers and grumbled a bit to himself.

"His foster parents are very worried for him. They have to lock their knives in cupboards with locks to block his way to them," she commented.

"He hurts himself?" Taehyung asked, and Mrs Kim nodded. "Then how can he do it without access to the knives?" he prodded further.

"He manages to do it without knives. He used to break his mirrors by punching them and then using the shards to scratch his arms," she elaborated, and Taehyung shivered at the thought.

"Can't they stop putting mirrors in his room and around the house then? They could use pocket mirrors," Taehyung suggested.

"They do that now," she replied, "he resorts to breaking the windows now. They can't just completely seal out the house. He has been to many psychologists, but none of them has worked," Mrs Kim said, hoping that Taehyung understood what she was hinting at.

"I'm very busy. Can't he go to someone else?" Taehyung said with a sigh, ready to give the papers back, but Mrs Kim refused to take them.

"You're his only hope Taehyung. Please," she begged as if the troubled boy was her own son. It made Taehyung frown again. He wasn't a cold person - definitely not - and he wanted to help, but he had too many patients at the moment and he was already a quite busy person. His hair would start graying and falling out soon if he carried on working so hard.

"And if I don't succeed?" Taehyung asked as he glanced up at Mrs Kim.

"They'll send him to a mental hospital," she mumbled, and those words were enough to convince Taehyung and motivate him into accepting this assignment. There was nothing Taehyung hated more than the mental hospital - really, he despised that place.

"Fine, I'll do it," he agreed to the job, earning a grateful grin from his pleased boss.

"Good. He's waiting at your office right now," she said quickly before she patted Taehyung's shoulder and ran away cheekily. Taehyung's jaw dropped in surprise and he almost ran after her but decided not to because there was nothing he could do now.

"You tricked me!" he yelled after her, but he realised there was no use when she was out of sight, and he had already been defeated.

He sighed and walked down the hallway to his office where that boy was waiting for him. He took a deep breath before opening the door and prepared to accept the fate he was given this time.
